I know not everyone celebrates Christmas, but in many countries, there is a big break coming up, and I thought I would share some good vacation-type reads. So put these on hold at the biblioteca now to prepare for a long period of time for relaxation and good reading.

1. His Dark Materials da Philip Pullman
(The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass)-I read this series once over a break and it is fantastic. Deep and meaningful while still a quick read. The 2nd one is my favorite.

2. Anna Karenina da Leo Tolstoy
This is probably a challenge for a lot of people, but it's one of the most amazing libri I have ever read. I tackled this one over a Natale break and finished in a little over a week. It's a good book to go for when te have a long stretch of time to devote to it.

3. Inheritance series da Christopher Paolini
(Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr) This is a good chance to catch up before the 4th book comes out. (Anyone know when that is, btw?) People may laugh at this pick, but the libri are very easy reads and pretty addicting. You'll get into them quickly which is perfect for the holidays. te want to relax after all!

4. 1984 da George Orwell
If you've been putting it off, now's your chance to read this timeless classic!

5. Watership Down da Richard Adams
I know a book about rabbits on a quest sounds ridiculous but this book is completely wonderful. You'll get through it in no time.

6. Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales
This book looks intimidating, but each of the stories are very short and they are magical. te will Amore this. Plus, you've got time to kill ;)

7. Lord of the Rings da J.R.R. Tolkien
Now, I understand that this task is a little overwhelming, but at least try to finish one of these 3 libri over break. I promise it's still good even if te spread it out. Tackle one this break, another in the spring and the last one over the summer.

8. The Girl of the Limberlost da Gene Stratton Porter
I completely loved this book when I was 15. It's a beautiful story. It has little to do with vacation, but it's a thick book, though a quick read once te get into it.

9. Birth of Venus da Sarah Dunant
If te like historical fiction, this one was very surprising to me in a good way. I usually don't go straight for the bestsellers, I'm più of a classics girl, but I'd say this is a good vacation book.

10. The Last Wife of Henry VIII da Carolly Erickson
Another historical fiction. I learned a lot about English history and about Henry VIII and his many wives. The libri starts when he's still married to his first wife. I read this book literally from cover to cover without setting it down. A great fast read.

So there te have it. This is not a lista of my preferito libri (though many do fit into that category) but instead a true lista of libri I think te will find very enjoyable over vacation. So challenge yourself and read as many as possible o even just one! Let me know what te think, I'd Amore to hear comments.

Now, there are two types of memoirs in my mind: those about famous people, and those that aren't. Both have their pros and cons. più people are likely to notice a famous memoir at the bookstore and buy it based on the celebrity's name -- but "common folk" memoirs don't have pre-conceptions, politics, and religious perspectives to overcome. o you're like me, who likes whatever she reads as long as its good. Whatever te like to read, here are a few memorable memoirs that I'd recommend te read.

With memoirs written da writers, te rightfully expect that the memoir is as good of a read as their...

When Psyche receives a prophecy gone horribly wrong, she learns that even the most beautiful girl in Greece can have a hideous future. Her fate? Fall in Amore with the one creature even the gods fear.
As she feels herself slipping closer into the arms of the prophecy, Psyche must choose between the terrifyingly tender touch she feels almost powerless to resist and the one constant she’s come to expect out of life: te cannot escape what is destined.
ADORABLE. Days after finishing Destined, I can’t stop thinking about it. And every time I do, I get this warm, fuzzy feeling in my stomach. After...

"Only Revolutions" tells the tale of two teenagers whose youth and whose Amore are the only constants in a world in perpetual flux. This book has garnered a fair share of controversy. Some herald it as genius, others as nonsensical and gimmicky.

Seeing as I haven't postato an articolo here yet I thought I'd type up a little something. This'll be a lista of libri that I read and some mini reviews of them; seeing as there are a lot, I will be utilizing my reviews from 'Goodreads'. Some reviews will be cut short to keep the length down.
Some reviews will have spoilers.

Croak

First and foremost, I Amore Lex. She's sassy, funny, and sarcastic. She also was all head over heals for Driggs. te can tell she likes him, but it doesn't turn the story into some silly stupid romance novel, basically it didn't obstruct the plot. I really really loved,...

I highly recommend this book: Edenbrook da Julianne Donaldson.

I've never read a book this good. It had my stomach churning and flipping and I swear I reread every paragraph a kajillion times, I couldn't get enough. It is a page turning, intense, action filled romance.

Here's the catch: it is during the regence era (like old England, Pride and Prejudice). BUT don't let that scare te off. The autore writes in a way that twists modern Scrivere and makes it feel old and rustic. It isn't in that big fancy Scrivere where te have to look up every other word and read the sentance twice just to understand...

Hi there everyone!

I'm a writer and I'd Amore some international support for my story that I already gave to my preferito actor Colin morgan personally as a gift. He inspired me for a certain character and it was dato più as a sign of gratitude for the inspiration rather than for him to read it. No idea if he ever would, but I just hope the effort I put into translating it just for him made him happy that day. What a brilliant actor ^^ Anyways - I've created a club and this account itself for communicating with future readers. I don't want to bother anyone with it, but how else could te let...
