I woke up in a king size letto in a guest room, feeling lazy and comfortable as I watch the still dark sky from the side of the room which had no bacheca but a floor-to-celing window. I usually woke before dawn.
For the first times since my parents were murdered, I felt no stress when waking up. Although whether Jasper had a hand in this feeling of calm o not, I had no idea. Oh, he had demonstrated his ability often enough yesterday during the "sit down and talk" session. Everytime I felt myself getting angry, I would be forced to feel calm and later, annoyed. Thinking back upon it, I actually felt that the talk had gone pretty well. Rosalie did not break anything else, Esme and Carlisle were impossibly kind, Jasper was suspicious but not at all mean, Bella and Edward were understanding, Renesmee decided to trust me and tell me all her life story in one touch, and Alice... Alice was just Alice. There's really nothing to describe her. I laughed to myself. Interesting did not even come close to describing the Cullens.
Sombering up, I felt a weird sense of security and warmth when talking with the Cullens. My parents didn't really care for me. I was an asset to their status in hunting vampires. They really had no reason to mostra much Amore for me. They only had to train me. The Cullens were amazing. After I told them that I hadn't even dato a thought to where I am going to stay, considering that I ran away from my foster home to Forks, to seek revenge and was too busy planning my escape, Carlisle immediately offered me the guest room in his house, even suggesting that I can personalize it if I am planning for an extended stay.
After I told them everything, the whole story, properly, Carlisle in turn explained to me that he had not betrayed my parents in any way. It turns out that my parents saw the Cullens' "vegetarian" lifestyle and thought that since the Cullens did not kill humans, they would have no reason to kill the Cullens. That went against vampire hunting rules. No Vampiri#From Dracula to Buffy... and all creatures of the night in between. are to be spared. It's no wonder that it wasn't in my parents' file on the Cullens. da choosing to befriend the Cullens, my parents would be put on the execution lista if other hunter found out. I shivered. Having chosen to follow my parents and be Friends with the Cullens, if any other hunter find out, I'm dead meat.
I suddenly felt very vulnerable and decided to go for a walk. I did that sometimes, to calm myself and to practise my little secret behind my parents back. Still in a spaghetti strap superiore, in alto and loose pants, I went downstaris. Edward was playing his Pianoforte softly to himself as I walked past.
"I'm going for a walk." I murmured, although Edward probably already know. Quickly walking far from the house and, almost instinctively, onto a path leading into the dense trees, I emerged into a beautiful small clearing with a small stream passing through it and tall trees covering it from view. It was perfect. The sound of running water was calming and the fresh air was doing me good.
Suddenly, I noticed a flash of white in the trees some distance off. I immediately hid behind a ciliegia bush, my cuore beating quickly, and squinted. Esme was standing there with someone else wearing full black, so black that I hadn't seen him until he moved. They were standing close together but I can't see clearly. The guy doesn't seem to be Carlisle... o any of the Cullen guys. My curiousity piqued, I tried to inch closer but suddenly they were gone. I blinked hard. Nope. No sign of them. Maybe I should go back to get some sleep. I certainly hope I wasn't going crazy but a part of me was sure that I saw what I thought I saw.
Instead of going back to the house. I decided to mollusco, vongola down and listen to the sound of running water from the stream and birds' chirping. This natural Musica soon made my heartbeat slow down and my breathing even out. Then I danced. Yup. That was my little secret, belly dancing. I closed my thoughts from all worries and only focused on movement. I closed my eyes, feeling the movement of the running water, feeling the movement of the birds and the gently swaying leaves on the trees and transferred all that into dance. The firm, yet fluid, movements of the belly dance soothed me, the soft Musica I hummed to myself made me feel so much lighter. I could never understand now belly dance brought me so down to earth and yet made me feel like I'm flying. My dance came to a close as I came to a stop from my final twirls.
Someone clapped and I immediately whipped around to see Carlisle standing there with a warm appreciative smile on his face.
"Beautiful dance, te were great! I didn't know that girls still belly dance. It used to be popular." His smile grew dazzling as he detto that and I just stood there, part of me trying to remember to close my mouth, another panicking that Carlisle just found out my secret.
"Carlisle...I...uh...you." I utterly could not think of anything to say. He laughed
"Would te do another dance for me?" He smiled as he asked. Of course I couldn't resist his smile. Before I realized what I was doing, I danced for him. My hands placed behind my back, my knees slightly bending in a starting positing, I began. I danced a dance of forgiveness, hoping that he would forgive me for trying to kill him. The floor movements brought me to dance on my knees before him, humbling myself to ask for forgiveness and yet mostrare all the feminine beauty of the dance. Although there was no music, I could feel the Musica in my surroundings like before, I could even imagine the sound of the bells on my anklets that I usually wore while dancing. Even with no bells, my feet made small movements as though making the bells ring and drawing attention to the intricate patterns in which I moved. I ended with a twirl, coming to an ending position before Carlisle.
"There's nothing to forgive" He whispered softly. I looked up, mesmerized da the kindness in his gaze. The sun rose up above the horizon, birds flew across the skies and small animali foraged around for food. A girl and a vampire looked at each other, unmoving. Somewhere above in the trees, a baby bird hatched out of its egg. Such was the power of love.
