I definitely prefer this and it's one of the main reasons I LOVE Odette and I think she gets WAY too much undeserved criticism.

Both, though. I don't know why Odette gets so much criticism about how she "lacks personality". She's a fantastic character.

I like this one because it's not as in-your-face. The other one just feels like pandering.

what criticism does Odette get? I'm actually curious. I never see anything outside fanpop talk about her movie, much less criticize it.

anyway it's actually a good point, while Elsa's sucks. Sorry. But it's smug and it's so hypocritical coming from someone who knows diddly about love herself, probably even less than Anna does considering she's had to shut people out, and it's Disney flipping off the older movies which proves they don't watch them because none did that. even if they did, it shows what little common sense anyone has! they're fairy tales! It's OKAY for that to happen!

The criticisms Odette gets (which me and cruella have covered in our character reviews of her) are as follows:

She's an unoriginal Disney rip-off
She's stupid
She's a useless and spineless damsel in distress that does nothing
She's bland and boring
She has no personality
She's passive
She fell in love with Derek out of no where, despite the fact that he bullied her all her life and only loved her for her looks
She lets Derek treat her like a doormat
Her relationship with Derek was done poorly

She gets hate even outside of Fanpop, especially since the Nostalgia Critic reviewed the movie.

So many applauded Elsa for saying that sentence but I hate it. I like Odette's

I must be the only one who voted for Elsa's quote, while I actually like them both. It's just the delivery of that line that cracks me up. Anna's babbling on about marrying this dude she just met, and then suddenly Elsa whips out that line... I almost expected to hear a record scratch. Like *rrrrrrrp* "You can't marry a man you just met." It was kind of mood whiplash.

Also, these movies, while fairy tales, are a reflection of societal values at the time they're made. And the audience is more likely to relate to Elsa's balking than it is to identify with Anna's objections. Disney's doing what it has to to stay relevant; good for them.

Though I prefer Odette and her movie overall. Frozen is overrated tbh.

I can't stand Elsa's comment. It's all Jennifer Lee voicing her judgment of prior Disney Princesses. It manages to be curt and tacky. It's not the least bit empowering.
