I don't know about Fahrenheit 911, but he didn't look too great in Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine." Moore interviewed him as President of the National Rifle Association and he did not come across well.

I remember seeing the film "The greatest show on earth" which was the first film I saw of Charlton Heston. Thereafter I have seen a few more of his films such as "The Ten Commandments" "Ben Hur" and "Elcid". I feel he was well suited the roles he played in all these instead of any other actor who could have also played the same roles.
