Cornelia Funke was born in 1958. She lived in Hamburg, Germany before moving to Los Angeles, California in the spring of 2005. She wrote her first story at age 35. Cornelia started out as an illustrator, but she got più and più bored with the stories she was dato to illustrate, so she decided to write her own stories. Only when she started Scrivere stories that she wanted to draw pictures to did she realize, that Scrivere was her true passion. So she decided to become a full-time autore and story-teller.
