I know he's awsome but I think if the notebook could make peple "know" things that they didn't know before then that would end the trouble to Light's problems with L.... it was all planned out by the author from the bigining...

so true, now that I think of it, if Light was dedicated to the "ruling the world kinda thing" and his father was against Kira, would that mean that Light would have to kill his father with the notebook.... and from there he could easily "specify" that his father could kill L FOR him, that way to kill two birds with the same bullet..

Thanks lychee_fruit for clearing that up. Anyone who has read the manga or seen the anime should know that you don't become a Shinigami after using a Death Note.

I wouldn't use a Death Note regardless, so it doesn't really matter to me.
