I'm glad it wasn't. I would be worried they'd do something like have the main character be the daughter of Baby and some guy that isn't Johnny. And in my mind, those two beat the odds and ended up happily married. :p So I'm happy the sequel had nothing to do with the original movie.

If it was related to the real movie 17 years later would have been a bit stupid you'd have baby in her 30's and johnny maybe his 40's where would there be a a story yes I bet they went off and got married and had their own kids but how would that become a story? If it was maybe 3/5 years after the movie was first released in 87 then their may have been a story.

I didn't really want to see Havana Nights but when I did I think it's awesome how Patrick Swayze's in it I never knew to expect to see him.
