Their endings in the war- yes. But not really. I've always seen it and have been fascinated da Joan but did not pay attention to the similar facts. Everybody realized that Joan should lead them in the war, and she succeeded.
Same with MULAN. So te can't really say they are not similar.

Both went to war, one for China, one for France. But Joan's ending is sad, while Mulan's is happy.
And there is one thing I'm not sure - in one book Joan did the same as Mulan - pretend to be a male, but in other she did not.
