Principesse Disney Article: Getting to know... maryksand

ciao everyone.

Since I've been a member of this club for a anno I guess it's time for me to introduce myself. That's why, first and foremost... hi:) My name is Mary (Maria is my full name actually, but I've been Mary everywhere online) and "Ksand" is the first half of my actual last name which is rather long, boring and hard to pronounce even for me. I live in Russia, so English is not my first language - don't judge hard. I'm 23 and yes, I am obsessed with Disney in every way possible.

Cliche to say, but I've been a Disney lover since forever. In my childhood years it used to give me inspiration, during high school it gave me strength and now it just helps me to get through another giorno and battle my depression. I Amore pretty much all the Disney Film to a più o lesser extent, but my favourites are: Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Little Mermaid, Mulan and Tangled. I can watch them countless times and never get bored. They give me all the feelings.

When it comes to Disney Princesses, my favourites are Ariel, Mulan and Rapunzel, my lista used to change quite a lot, but now I feel like for these three I have some sort of an unconditional Amore and honestly I don't see it ever changing. While other Disney girls I have certain issues with, these three always make me overprotective when it comes to them, their actions and choices no matter how shallow it might be of me:) But I Amore all kinds of discussions and appreciate all kinds of opinions, that being one of the major reasons I joined this club in the first place.

I can't say I'm similar to any of these girls (although some people did compare me to Rapunzel because of my Amore for drawing, but mostly because of blonde hair and green eyes, I guess...), but I can relate to all of them in some way: to Mulan because of her insecurities and desire to find herself, to Ariel because of being a rebel, to Rapunzel because of her artistic nature and because I had to deal with the same emotional pressure from some of my family members that she went through with Gothel. So first and foremost, for me, Disney Princesses are heroines that give me hope for a happy ending, inspire me to fight for it even in the darkest hour.

My favourite Disney couples are: Hercules/Meg (I know, I know that Meg is not a princess, just sharing my Amore for this perfect, selfless Amore they created), Eric/Ariel, Rapunzel/Flynn, Mulan/Shang and Aladdin/Jasmine.

Other things I'm fond of:

Harry Potter

Musica - I can listen to pretty much anything, I don't have any particular preferences regarding genres o artists, what's important to me is being able to relate to a song I'm listening to, to be inspired da it's music, to escape reality for at least 2 minutes.

Pizza:)

Sunny weather

Scrivere stuff (most of which I'll hardly ever mostra to anyone:)))

Titanic, Back to The Future, PS: I Amore te - favourite Film aside from Disney movies.

starlight77 Nice article. We have a lot in common. I love Ariel, Mulan, and Rapunzel too. I also like Titanic, pizza, and all of your favorite couples except for Ariel and Eric. I'm glad to have another Shulan fan on here.

maryksand starlight77 - thanks:) Very nice to meet you. And I'm glad you like Mulan/Shang too (as well as other things we have in common:)), I always thought they were amazing but very underrated as a couple.

chesire Cool article. Herc/Meg are one of my fave pairs too. And I love the Back to the Future trilogy too :D It's a shame Michael Fox had to have Parkinson's disease. He's still a great person up to this day though. :)

maryksand chesire - thank you and nice to meet you:) I agree with what you said and I'll always appreciate Michael as an actor no matter what. The trilogy is amazing:) And great to know there are a lot of Herc/Meg fans out there:)

maryksand ^ Thanks, I'm glad we agree:) Ariel is my favourite girl but I think Mulan is a little bit better as a character, that's why she is my number one. But I love the three of them a lot. Thank you for your comment and it's a pleasure to meet you, once again:)

BraBrief Omg! You're like Rapunzel, you're so pretty :) anyway...I love Herc x Meg, too! <3 mainly because of Meg, she's my favorite Disney Female Character :)

maryksand ^ Thank you for such a lovely comment!:) Although I'm not as pretty as Rapunzel but I'm glad that you think I recemble her:) And Hercules & Meg were a truly epic couple, their love was so beautifully selfless, despite all the complecations and unusual circumstances when it comes to the beginning and the progression of their relationship (I honestly think they had the best build up when it comes to Disney romantic couples). "Hercules" is the kind of movie where I loved and related to both male and female character:) Meg is awesome and I wish she was an official Disney princess, after all, she ended up with the son of a Greek god who was technically a god himself despite choosing to stay on earth with her and live his life as a mortal.

BraBrief ^ I always cry in this part :*) anyway I agree...Herc is a kind of prince,so Meg could be a princess merrying him... like Belle, Tiana or Cinderella

I am decided to sort DPs to Hogwarts Houses. I'll illustrate this articolo with pictures where each DP best exhibits the traits of house she belongs( Gryffindors do something risky, Hufflepuffs are doing something useful o exhibit frinedliness, Ravenclaws read o explore something, Slytherins are tricking someone o dream about something). Anna's preferito Disney Princess lista

So Anna was a little più interesting to write because as I started Scrivere Anna's, I thought about how I used Elsa the end of the movie as a basis for making her princess lista so I tried to focus on end of the movie Anna. However, I realized that, although I felt like Anna had changed-- she actually hadn't. I became conscious of the fact that the narrative was making Anna go through all the motions and dramatic arcs of someone going through a change, but she was still the same person at the end of the movie. Also, like Snow White, I think Anna would absolutely adore all of the Disney Princesses....

Last year, I wrote an articolo where I listed off 40 of my preferito fan-arts of Elsa. I was very lucky that I could do it, especially since I also made a drawing for her, tried to re-watch Frozen, etc. But I was also delayed because I had an appointment with my psychiatrist in Arad, and then I had to help out my father with renovating my Godmother/cousin's house, and exercise in order to stay in good shape. While I didn't manage to release it on time for the Winter Solstice, I did finished it with only two hours into the successivo day.

10. Cinderella- I like Cenerentola but I feel like she is a little too inexpressive in my opinion. I like that she is very strong and shows it da keeping her cool throughout the movie. I mean her life is hard throughout the entire beginning of the movie, she is a victim of abuse da her step-mother and sisters. So I definitely respect that about Cinderella. She is still a very monotonous character in my opinion so that's why I put her so low on this list.

9. Rapunzel- I like her girly and childish attitude, and I really like her style. I think purple definitely fits her. One complaint I have is...

Ready to meet your live-action counterparts?

Hi guys, since I had watch 3 reboots of their respective Disney classics. Here are my opinions on which is better, the animated o the live-action version?

Maleficent

Okay, as mentioned, this film left me disturbed for a number of reasons. The first was how they make King Stefan turn into the dark side, whereas in Sleeping Beauty. He is not like that at all! (1959 Version)
Sadly, Aurora gets less screen-time like her animated counterpart. But, she's più bubbly like Snow White! So I would say that I admire both the animated and live-action Princess Aurora. (tied)

My Review of the Reinvented Version of The Little Mermaid On Broadway

Well, I managed to be able to see the Broadway mostra of The Little Mermaid, something I’ve dreamed of experiencing since the moment I heard about the Broadway mostra years ago. Most of te know that Disney’s The Little Mermaid is both my preferito Disney movie and one of my preferito Film of ALL TIME, so this was MAJOR for me! I also was lucky enough to see the original Broadway mostra on youtube, starring Sierra Boggess as Ariel herself, that mostra was amazing with many great new songs, capturing the characters I loved so much while giving them a new spin, and clever writing.

Hi guys, since the release of Moana, the song has been staying in head and I could not let it go of it! So, I'll be Scrivere 2 of my favourite songs and which is better.

So, this song has been overplayed since the film's release 3 years ago. I would considered this my theme song too because I tend to get nervous whenever I'm driving! I'm also fortunate to have the International Version of this wonderful song on my iTunes and it was like Elsa has competed in World Idol!

Alright, since I had done a Hispanic princess, here is how a Slavic princess will look like.

1. Natalie Glebova (Miss Universe 2005, Canada)
