2013 wasn't the best anno in Musica but we did have some memorable, and some relatable, songs. And speaking of relatable, have te ever wondered which famous modern pop song some of your favourite Disney characters would connect with? Probably not but I do think this articolo might interest anybody who's into both Disney and superiore, in alto 40.

Work Bxxch da Britney Spears - Tiana

I was listening to this song the other day, right after watching The Princess and the Frog, and I immediately thought of Tiana. That's what gave me the idea of this articolo in the first place. Anyway, while a lot of the lyrics in this song make no sense and definitely don't fit Tiana, the complessivamente, generale message of the song is very fitted for her. It's a fun, upbeat song about working hard to get what te want. Besides Almost There, what's più Tiana than Work Bxxch? Not to mention, Tiana, in her Plain Jane outfits, is still every bit as sexy as a half-naked Brit.

Started From the Bottom da drake - Cinderella, Aladdin, Tiana and Flynn

The only line I know from this song is "Started from the bottom, now we're here" so I'm obviously not familiar with the lyrics, but this song is clearly a rags to riches story. This one was easy. I just thought of the least privileged of characters from the Disney Princess franchise (I limited my choices to only the DP characters because I was too lazy to think of more) who, somehow, turned their lives around and I ended up with these four. Cinderella, Aladdin, Tiana and Flynn (well, technically Eugene but I'm used to saying Flynn) had all started from the bottom, and now they're living a fabulous life.

Baby I da Ariana Grande - Shang

Now you're all thinking I'm insane. Just think about it. As soon as Shang found out that Mulan was a girl and realized his feelings for her, he was suddenly awkward around her and, well, could barely talk. "Um... you... te fight good" is basically Shang's equivalent of Ariana's "Baby IIIIII....."

Gentleman da The Saturdays - Megara

I'm talking about Meg before she met Hercules. She'd been heartbroken da her ex-boyfriend and she became guarded and assumed the worst in all guys. Sounds like a certain song da a certain British girl group to me...

Mirrors da Justin Timberlake - Pocahontas and John Smith

...mostly John, since I think his feelings are più similar to JT's in the song than Pocahontas' is. Mirrors sounds very much like their relationship. Poca and John are similar people, and they found each other and fell in love. They were each others' other half; they mirrored each other. And I think how their relationship as it is described in If I Never Knew te is lot like the line "The vacancy that sat in my cuore is a spazio that now te hold", since they admitted that they would have been empty had they never met and fallen in love.

Let Her Go da Passenger - The Beast and Kristoff

I was going to include Quasimodo but I honestly believe that he was only infatuated with Esmeralda, and also very grateful to her. Anyway, to the beast. The only lyrics I know from this song is the chorus, and it seems to translate the beast's feelings about Belle, at the end of the movie, pretty well. He let her go because he realized that he truly loved her and he wanted her to be happy. And while I do not believe that Kristoff was truly in Amore with Anna, this song is basically how Olaf had described Kristoff's feelings for Anna.

Heart Attack da Demi Lovato - Naveen

A gender-swapped version of this song is perfect for Naveen. I mean, he's a player, and he's usually very cool around women. And then he falls in Amore with Tiana, and suddenly he's awkward. He doesn't know what to do o say and fumbling and kind of cute, like in that data scene where he's going to propose to her. However, although Naveen's feelings translate to the lyrics, he didn't try to "cover up" and he seemed to embrace his feelings, probably because he was so open to trying new things.

Roar da Katy Perry - Cenerentola and Elsa

A song about gaining confidence and learning to stand up for yourself, a perfect one for Cenerentola who eventually stood up to the Tremaines. It wasn't a very impressive development for Disney's "main" princess, but the song still fits her. I also believe that Cenerentola is way stronger than shes dato credit for, and she becomes stronger throughout her movies. As for Elsa, she'd hidden from her troubles almost all her life, and while she eventually tried to stand up to the people who'd outcasted her, I feel that what she really had to stand up to we're her inner demons. Let It Go was definitely Elsa's Roar moment.

Here's to Never Growing Up da Avril Lavigne - Peter Pan and the Lost Boys

Do I even need to explain this one? Who cares if Peter and his Friends don't know what Radiohead is? This should be The Lost Boys' theme song. After all, it is mine.

Classic da MKTO - Belle

A song to compliment the classy girls who stand out in a world full of... well, for lack of a better word, trashy sluts. Belle is portrayed as very classy girl, one who is different to anyone else. Belle is so beautiful and special that she stands out to everybody in town. Everybody is Canto about her, regardless of whether they like her o not. Belle contrasts with nearly every other character in her movie. She's classy compared to the trashy Bimbettes, intelligent compared to the daft Gaston, extremely kind compared to the cruel beast and an open-minded dreamer compared to the practical, narrow-minded people of her town. Classic da MKTO is a song that commends a girl for standing out against the others. Belle is portrayed as that kind of girl. Different, special, out of this world and... classic.

True Amore da P!nk featuring Lily Rose Cooper - Mulan and Shang

I really like how realistically Mulan's relationship with Shang was handled in Mulan II. They didn't always get along, because of their differences. They fight, and suddenly they're over it, then they fight again, and even though they're not talking to each other it is clear that they miss each other very much and that they still care deeply about one another... they get over that too. It's a cycle. It's realistic. It's true love... It's Shulan.

Chinese Cibo da Alison oro - Chien Po

This song is even stupider than Rebecca Black's Friday. If te haven't heard it, then don't listen to it, whatever te do. I wouldn't even subject my worst enemies to such torturous treatment. But this song is perfect for Chien Po. He loves food. He loves Chinese food. *starts singing* te know that it's true...

... Aaand, that's a wrap!
