Positive Messages
As some of te might be able to tell, I have been in a very musical mood lately. Along those themes, I wanted to make 2 Musica countdowns: 1 for Songs and 1 for Scores. I Amore Disney's music, especially from the team of Alan Menken & Howard Ashman. I almost never like covers of DP songs da Disney Pop stars so unless otherwise mentioned, all versions here are the original ones from the film. Here are my rankings for preferito songs:

Honorary Mentions:
With A Smile & A Song - Snow White & The 7 Dwarfs (So positive and uplifting plus an excellent message.) "There's no use in grumbling When the raindrops come tumbling Remember, you're the one Who can fill the world with sunshine When te smile and te sing."
Dig A Little Deeper - The Princess & The Frog (So genuine and upbeat plus an excellent message.) "Don't matter what te look like. Don't matter what te wear. How many rings te got on your finger, We don't care. Don't matter where te come from. Don't even matter what te are"

20. I'll Make A Man Out Of te - Mulan
I Amore how this is such a great little masculine song thrown into a DP film! I think it was an excellent diverse song from the lovely più feminine songs. I think the lyrics are great and they often will get stuck in my head.
"You're a spineless, pale, pathetic lot. And te haven't got a clue. Somehow I'll make a man out of you."
"You're a spineless, pale, pathetic lot. And te haven't got a clue. Somehow I'll make a man out of you."

19. Poor Unfortunate Souls- The Little Mermaid
This has always been such a great villain song to me. I Amore the way Ursula delivers it as well as the specific words she chooses. (She reminds me a lot of my ex-Stepmom, especially when she sings this song.) This song really shows off how villainous and manipulative Ursula is.
"I admit that in the past I've been a nasty. They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a witch."
"I admit that in the past I've been a nasty. They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a witch."

18. Whistle While te Work- Snow White & The 7 Dwarfs
I Amore how this song shows Snow White's positive and genuine nature. I have heard her described as "manipulative" but I don't see that at all, I think she's a very good and decent person who does not try to exploit others to get what she wants. (Her plea for help to the Dwarfs was simply that, a plea from a 14-ish? anno old maiden who knew that was the safest place for her and she offered to do her part to stay.) Whenever I am cleaning myself, I always tend to hear this song. Work has to be done and it's best done with a positive attitude.
"So hum a merry tune. It won't take long when there's a song to help te set the pace."
"So hum a merry tune. It won't take long when there's a song to help te set the pace."

17. Almost There- The Princess & The Frog
I Amore Tiana's confidence in this song, towards her goal to open up her own restaurant. I love, respect and admire the fact that she doesn't just expect things to fall into her lap, she is willing to do the work to reach her goal. She doesn't let "trials and tribulations" bring her down because she is stronger than that and chooses not to be a victim. I also Amore the fact that she stands out in her town. She describes the people in New Orleans as being più laid back and easy going, as mentioned in the line "This old town can slow te down, people taking the easy way But I know exactly where I'm going, I'm getting closer and closer every day." This determination and ambitious spirit is displayed beautifully in this song and I Amore the nod to her father in it as well.
"Trials and tribulations I've had my share. There ain't nothing gonna stop me now cause I'm almost there. I remember Daddy told me "Fairytales can come true te gotta make 'em happen, it all depends on you."
"Trials and tribulations I've had my share. There ain't nothing gonna stop me now cause I'm almost there. I remember Daddy told me "Fairytales can come true te gotta make 'em happen, it all depends on you."

16. Something There- Beauty & The Beast
I Amore how this song shows Belle & the beast starting to fall in love. It's so sweet and sincere. I think it also very accurately shows how true Amore plays out from a budding friendship. At some point te just realize that there's "something there" that's più than friendship, the chemistry becomes undeniable. The initial judgments/perceptions are gone and a Amore has started to develop in it's place.
"There's something sweet And almost kind. But he was mean, and he was coarse and unrefined. And now he's dear, And so unsure. I wonder why I didn't see it there before."
"There's something sweet And almost kind. But he was mean, and he was coarse and unrefined. And now he's dear, And so unsure. I wonder why I didn't see it there before."

15. For The First Time In Forever Reprise - Frozen
It's been noted many times on this site but it's worth mentioning again, this song does such a beautiful job at mostrare the contrast and dynamic between Elsa & Anna. Their voices blend beautifully together. This song gets stuck in my head often!
Anna: "'Cause for the first time in forever," Elsa: "Oh I'm such a fool, I can't be free!" Anna: "You don't have to be afraid" Elsa: "No escape from the storm inside of me!" Anna: "We can work this out together" Elsa: "I can't control the curse!" Anna: "

14. Belle - Beauty & The Beast
I Amore this entire song! I Amore all of the lyrics and I Amore how well it explains so much about Belle's character. The fact that she went through hardship, that she is misunderstood, that she finds solace in reading, that she has big dreams for herself, and that she is a classic beauty in her town yet doesn't use it to her advantage o rely on it to exploit others. I even Amore all of the lyrics sung da various townspeople in it!
"Now, it's no wonder that her name means "beauty" Her looks have got no parallel But behind that fair facade I'm afraid she's rather odd Very different from the rest of us She's nothing like the rest of us Yes, different from the rest of us is Belle"
"Now, it's no wonder that her name means "beauty" Her looks have got no parallel But behind that fair facade I'm afraid she's rather odd Very different from the rest of us She's nothing like the rest of us Yes, different from the rest of us is Belle"

13. A Girl Worth Fighting For - Mulan
I Amore how flattering this song is! These men are marching off into war to face some cruel and merciless enemies and protect everyone in their country and the only thing they hope for in return is to find a girl, a love, who makes it all worth it. Some say this song is not romantic at all but I completely disagree. Although I am a woman, I think this song coming from men and their point of view is incredibly romantic. They are willing to face almost certain death with the hopes that a woman will Amore them, appreciate them and respect them for all of their hard work and effort to keep them going. Plus, what they ask for is no where near unreasonable (specific beauty traits, appreciation of battle scars, cooks well, praise and adoration and laughs at his jokes). They also don't just want a girl da force o circumstance, they want to impress and woo her. I love, appreciate and respect this song. I also appreciate and respect the horrible things that lots of males willingly choose to face as well as their uncanny protection and accommodation for females and children (usually strangers) so that they don't have to deal with the "ugly work". I also Amore that the song ends abruptly with the reality of exactly why it is these men need these kinds of hopes, for the horrible things they do face and deal with. Catchy too.
"For a long time we've been marching off to battle In our thundering herd We feel a lot like cattle Like the pounding beat Our aching feet aren't easy to ignore Hey, think of instead A girl worth fighting for!"
"For a long time we've been marching off to battle In our thundering herd We feel a lot like cattle Like the pounding beat Our aching feet aren't easy to ignore Hey, think of instead A girl worth fighting for!"

12. Part Of Your World/Reprise - The Little Mermaid
I Amore how beautiful and emotional Ariel's voice is in this. It's kind of heartbreaking for me. She sounds so sincere, so passionate with such longing. I think this song is just gorgeous, musically and vocally. This scene/song usually makes me cry because of Ariel's conviction and how gorgeous the song is musically.
"What would I give to live where te are? What would I pay to stay here beside you? What would I do to see you, smiling at me? Where would we walk? Where would we run? If we could stay all giorno in the sun, just te and me.
"What would I give to live where te are? What would I pay to stay here beside you? What would I do to see you, smiling at me? Where would we walk? Where would we run? If we could stay all giorno in the sun, just te and me.

11. I Wonder - Sleeping Beauty
I Amore how gorgeous Aurora's voice sounds. I also Amore how this song represents Aurora's docile and innocent nature as well as her romantic and idealistic personality. She is so pure and graceful and I think it really comes through in this song. The only way she knows of finding Amore is the same way as the birds: Through song.
"I wonder if my cuore keeps Canto Will my song go winging To someone, who'll find me And bring back a Amore song to me?"
"I wonder if my cuore keeps Canto Will my song go winging To someone, who'll find me And bring back a Amore song to me?"

10. Let It Go - Frozen
Yes, I Amore this song. I think the Musica is very beautiful and I Amore the actress' voice in it. I've never really liked the song "Reflection" from Mulan but I'm pretty sure I Amore this song for the same reason others Amore that song. I think it's beautifully passionate and earnest, albeit not smartly written. As a song on it's own, I completely understand why it was such a big hit as it immediately stuck with me the first time I saw Frozen. As far as the film goes though, there are definite inconsistencies with the lyrics here and the film's story.
"It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me Can't get to me at all! It's time to see what I can do"
"It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me Can't get to me at all! It's time to see what I can do"

9. Listen With Your cuore - Pocahontas
I tend to try to find a balance between head and cuore but that aside, I Amore this song. I find it to be so incredibly soothing. The few lyrics that are here are beautiful as well.
"Let it break upon te Like a wave upon the sand."
"Let it break upon te Like a wave upon the sand."

8. If I Never Knew te - Pocahontas
I don't know why, and maybe someone could clear this up for me, but I remember this song being in the movie and playing when Pocahontas goes to see John Smith while he is being held captive. That was when I watched in on VHS as a child though. Now when I see the movie on Blu-Ray, it's not played until the credits. I do Amore the version at the end with the credits though da Jon Secada and Shanice, I think it's done beautifully. Anyways, I always thought this was one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard in my life, especially lyrically. This song really shows the power and beauty of love; how fragile and precious it is. Definitely this song makes me cry every single time I hear it nowadays because it's so beautiful. Perhaps because I feel the same way about my husband. There's a saying that "It's better to have loved and Lost then to have not known Amore at all" and I think this song embodies that perfectly. link
"If I never knew te If I never felt this Amore I would have no inkling of How precious life can be."
"If I never knew te If I never felt this Amore I would have no inkling of How precious life can be."

7. Belle Reprise - Beauty & The Beast
It's very short but I absolutely Amore and adore it. I can't get enough, it is stuck in my head all of the time. I Amore how it's distilled to the core of what Belle wants: Adventure away from here più than anything else. It reminds me of the song "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" da The Animals. I Amore the concept behind this song.
"I want much più than this provincial life I want adventure in the great wide somewhere I want it più than I can tell."
"I want much più than this provincial life I want adventure in the great wide somewhere I want it più than I can tell."

6. So This Is Love
This stuck always stuck out the most to me from Cinderella, even as a child. It was so beautiful and romantic as well as so pure and innocent. I Amore the way it accurately resembles love. It accurately represents Amore to be transcending and heavenly. Definitely will always be a beautiful and heartwarming classic for me.
"So this is Amore So this is what makes life divine I'm all aglow, Mmmmmm And now I know The key to all heaven is mine"
"So this is Amore So this is what makes life divine I'm all aglow, Mmmmmm And now I know The key to all heaven is mine"

5. Mother Knows Best - Tangled
This song has been growing on me ever since the first time I heard it! I Amore it so much as I can really relate to it. I think this song perfectly captures the manipulation and deceit of Mother Gothel. I Amore how Mother Gothel plays the "Merchant of Doubt" da saying things like "One way o another Something will go wrong, I swear" she uses the line "Me, I'm just your mother what do I know? I only bathed and changed and nursed you" mostrare how ridiculously manipulative she is. None of that stuff means anything because that's her job yet she's trying to make Rapunzel feel indebted to her for being alive. Personally, this song reminds me of my actual mother and it really captures her villainous spirit (and she is similar to Mother Gothel) so I find this song to be brilliantly realistic and accurate.
"Gullible, naive Positively grubby Ditzy and a bit, well, hmm...vague. Plus, I believe Gettin' kinda chubby I'm just saying cause I wuv you."
"Gullible, naive Positively grubby Ditzy and a bit, well, hmm...vague. Plus, I believe Gettin' kinda chubby I'm just saying cause I wuv you."

4. A Whole New World - Aladdin
My all-time preferito Disney duet! I have always loved this song since I first heard it as a little girl and still find it to be such a romantic and magical feeling song. I Amore the way it describes young Amore to be so exciting and full of adventure and mystery. I think it's so beautiful. This is also one of my preferito gelsomino scenes where she finally stops being a shrew for a minuto (until the song is over) and just lets herself be happy.
"Aladdin & (Jasmine): A whole new world (every turn a surprise) With new horizons to pursue (every moment red letter)"
"Aladdin & (Jasmine): A whole new world (every turn a surprise) With new horizons to pursue (every moment red letter)"

3. Honor To Us All - Mulan
I rank this so highly because I catch myself Canto it all the time! I think it is so cute and catchy! I also Amore the dynamic it shows between Mulan and her mother. I also Amore the "recipe for instant bride" and find it to be fairly accurate. I also Amore that it does mostly match up with what the men say they want from women. I just feel like women don't really understand men as well as they used to and I don't think enough mothers give their daughters honest and straight-forward consigli despite what feelings it may trigger like they used to. I Amore that Mulan's mother does this for her in this song though. I have the highest respect and appreciation for good mothers and wives so I personally really respect and appreciate this song and the way it holds that role in such high esteem. I see children as the future so I think good parenting is absolutely prime and necessary; One of the most important jobs in society. I still value families as they are still the best environment for children growing up and I Amore how this song speaks to that.
"We all must serve our emperor Who guards us from the Huns A man da bearing arms A girl da bearing sons"
"We all must serve our emperor Who guards us from the Huns A man da bearing arms A girl da bearing sons"

2. Once Upon A Dream - Sleeping Beauty I Amore classical Musica and I absolutely Amore Tchaikovsky! Ever since I was a little girl I always liked classical Musica and I loved this song. It always feels like a dream, sweeping me off my feet and making me want to do Piqué turns etc. all over the room. It certainly sweeps me off my feet and I can definitely see why it swept Aurora off of hers as well. It embodies grace and beauty to me.
"I know you, I walked with te once upon a dream I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam And I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem But if I know you, I know what you'll doYou'll Amore me at once, the way te did once upon
"I know you, I walked with te once upon a dream I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam And I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem But if I know you, I know what you'll doYou'll Amore me at once, the way te did once upon

1. Part Of That World - The Little Mermaid Nostalgia, nostalgia. Not just for the film but for when I felt just like Ariel and I was "ready to know what the people know, ask them my domande and get some answers". I always wanted to explore and learn new things and have been very curious about other cultures. I think the concept behind this song is so beautiful and inspiring. I also think Ariel's voice is so powerful and feminine at the same time, sometimes it gives me oca bumps. I adore Ariel's voice completely, it's so gorgeous. I think the Musica behind the song is equally gorgeous. A timeless classic that I sing/listen to often.
"When's it my turn? Wouldn't I Amore Amore to explore that puntellare, riva up above?"

Alright this is più of a rant than anything because "Enchanted" is one of my preferito Film and I cannot believe she isn't in the line up o is thought of as a Disney Princess. And I know the movie is making fun of the stereotypical princess when she meets the real world but there are so many allusions to the movie, especially The Little Mermaid in a lot of them. BUT ANYWHO let's get started.
The usual reason Disney deems a character a Disney Princess is usually because they are the heroine of the movie and have a few musical numbers where detto heroine sings in. They also are very beautiful...

 Belle and Beast
Belle and Beast
For me, Belle is one of the smartest princesses. I know some of te wouldn't agree, but I really think she is brainy. Now I'll start my discussion...

1. Being a Bookworm
For me, bookworms are oftenly smart. te know, the più te read the più te learn, the più te absorb information. Plus, Leggere a lot of stories makes her articulate and English literate. Last one, this is a personal experience, all of the bookworms I know are one of those very smart people I know in this world, so it may also be the same instance as Belle.

2. Being Open Minded
For me, Belle is an open minded person. Open mindedness...

Oh come on, her smile is not very pretty, it feels as if she's forced to smile, sometimes her smile can look very pretty, but oftenly it just feels forced and that is one of the reasons to why she's rarely seen smiling in the merchandise.

9.Tiana
Tiana is too grounded and doesn't believe in wishing upon stars, whereas Rapunzel's very nature is about believing in destiny and fate. She would admire Tiana for her independence, really, but there would be a lack of connection and she wouldn't care too much about Tiana's work ethic.

8.Aurora
While they would connect over the 'hidden princess' similarity, Rapunzel would...

One of my all time preferito authors is Jane Austen. When I read her novels I feel as if I have been transported to a different time and place; I feel the same way when I watch a Disney movie. They both take my mind off of my every giorno life, and take me into a world with chivalry, and romance. I’ve always thought Belle and Elizabeth Bennet were a lot alike, and lately I’ve been Leggere a lot of Jane Austen, and watching some of the Film that have been inspired da her work, and I thought about Scrivere this article. I’m going to match up each Disney Princess with a heroine from a Jane...

I'm sorry, I was really lazy so I photoshopped quickly and some not at all. Even I disagree on some of them. Well, let me know which celebrity te think could play a Disney princess!!!

Liv Tyler as Ariel
I think that Liv's face is fresh and she can rock the red lipstick and the hair.

Rachel Mcadams as Aurora
Rachel's lips and blonde hair reminded me of Aurora. They also both have the same body type.

Natalie Portman as Belle
I'm not sure what it is, maybe it's the feminine traits.

Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella

One of the subjects that interest me the most about Film (including DP movies) is the box-office. I think that if used in the right way (I mean, inflation-adjusting things), it might be a good way to compare Film and understed why they are popolare o not. So I spent some time researching and I finally came up with the North American grosses of the 10 DP Movies. Hope te enjoy my research, my commenti and my images.
