Dungeons & Draghi (or D&D for short) is a super fun tavolo, ripiano del tavolo roleplaying game that's been around since the 1970s but has recently gained a fair bit of popularity. I've been playing the game for around eight years at time of writing, and I strongly recommend te give it a try if te ever get the chance. It's really an absolute blast! D&D has always been one of my preferito hobbies, but within the last two years it's become an even bigger part of my life. Since I've been having so much fun with it recently, I decided it was finally time to try something I'd always wanted to do: turning the Disney Princesses into D&D characters.

Over the last anno I've been slowly creating D&D characters based off of the DPs, and I spent so much time on them that I really wanted to share them here. I'll be posting a series of articles, one for each DP, in which I explain why I chose the classes, subclasses, etc. for each princess, and share the backstory I wrote for each. I'll also be crossposting these articoli to the D&D club. All the characters will be level 3 to ensure that they all have a chosen subclass. Sourcebooks used to build these characters include the Player's Handbook, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.

Since I expect many of te here don't play D&D o maybe even haven't heard of it, I'll begin with the backstory I wrote since te might find that the most interesting. Below the backstory you'll find the più nitty gritty stats of the characters. Anything written in italics is an author's note explaining my reasoning behind certain character choices.

Jasmine

Human Bard - College of Eloquence / Background - Noble

Jasmine was a slight conundrum for me. There wasn't any particular class that stood out to me as really fitting for her. It wasn't until I started looking at subclasses that I found something that felt very Jas to me. So I ended up making her a bard specifically so I could make her subclass the College of Eloquence. Jas isn't afraid to speak her mind, and bards of the College of Eloquence are skilled orators and are excellent persuaders and deceivers with their silver tongues. For her background noble was the clear choice since she spent her whole life in the palace.

Backstory

Backstories have been created with a combination of the stories from the films and rolling randomly on the random tables in the "This Is Your Life" section of Xanathar's Guide to Everything, which is why some of these backstories have some wild things that really come out of left field lol.

I was born to Qamar and Fahim Bilal, the Sultana and Sultan of Agrabah. My mother always chafed against the confines of royal life, and one morning we awoke and she was simply gone. She left a note explaining that she loved us and why she left, but with no indication of where she'd gone. My father scoured the kingdom for her but found no trace. She was a masterful tinkerer, and she left for me a tiny mechanical granchio that moves about when it’s not being observed.

I was raised da my father and lived an aristocratic life in the palace. I made several Friends amongst the servants, much to my father's chagrin, and my childhood was generally a happy one. However, as I grew older it became clear that I took after my mother. I strained against the bonds of my life as a princess, and grew increasingly rebellious.

Eventually I grew so fed up that I decided to run away. During my admittedly short escapade outside the palace I met a charming strada, via ratto who I felt an instant connection with. We were discovered, however, and he was thrown in the dungeon and I believed him to have been executed da my father's advisor Jafar.

Not long after a prince who called himself Ali arrived, presenting himself as a suitor of mine. Initially I was as unimpressed with him as all my other numerous suitors, but as he began to open up to me I began to fall for him. Jafar got in the way, however, getting his hands on a genie's lamp and revealing Ali to actually be the strada, via ratto in disguise, a simple boy named Aladdin. With his quick thinking, Aladdin managed to defeat Jafar and free the genie, and my father agreed to change the laws so we could be married.

Life was good for a while, and I continued training to become Sultana when my father eventually abdicates the throne. I always believed words had più power than weapons, and I joined a loose society of scholars and orators to learn new techniques of performance and magic. With these techniques I hoped to avoid any future issues such as we'd had with Jafar, and I also began my training on the path of the bard.

I chose for my instrument a masterfully crafted halfling fiddle, and my defining work so far is “A Hoop, Two Pigeons, and a Hell Hound,” a subtle parody of an incompetent noble. My biggest embarrassment thus far was the time on stage when my wig caught fuoco and I threw it down — which set fuoco to the stage. Aladdin had been trying to help with some pyrotechnics, and... he's not allowed to help out anymore.

I have recently ventured out into the world as an adventurer. It was my own decision, as I felt I needed più experience of the real world and the lives of my citizens in order to properly prepare me for my future.

My travels have not had the best start, unfortunately. I tried to assist another adventurer, Leonor Ortega, a human cleric in her mission to rid a town of undead. She did not take kindly to my unasked for assistance, and she now visualizzazioni me as her enemy, and has not been shy about letting myself and others know of this.

Once again I kept it close to the fonte material!

Character Stats

Level 3

STR -1 (9) DEX +2 (15) CON +2 (14) INT +1 (13) WIS 0 (11) CHA +3 (16)

I used the standard array to generate stats. I tried to assign them in a way that would allow for a strong D&D character while still remaining mostly true to the attributes of the character in the film.

HP 24
AC 13 (leather)
Initiative +3
Speed 30 ft.

Saving throws: Dex +4, Cha +5

Skills: Deception +5, History +3, Insight +4, Performance +7, Persuasion +5 (For her class skills I gave her Deception, Insight, and Performance. We know she's good at deceiving people from her performance in the marketplace and when she fooled Jafar into baciare her. She's also insightful since she saw through Aladdin's disguise, and she's a good performer, exhibited in the same scenarios where she deceived people. I gave her Expertise in Insight and Performance. History and Persuasion were granted da her background.)

Languages: Common, Elvish, Loxodon (As a noble I think she may have been required to learn Elvish, and since she lives in a desert climate I wouldn't be surprised if Loxodon was a common language to hear in her kingdom.)

Tools: Horn, Lyre, Three-Dragon Ante Set, Viol

Features and Traits

Jack of All Trades: te can add half your proficiency bonus, rounded down ( +1 ), to any ability check te make that doesn’t already include it.

Song of Rest: If te o any friendly creatures who can hear your performance regain hit points at the end of the short rest da spending one o più Hit Dice, each of those creatures regains an extra 1d6 hit points.

Silver Tongue: When te make a Charisma (Persuasion) o Charisma (Deception) check, te can treat a d20 roll of 9 o lower as a 10.

Spells

Modifier: +3
Spell attack: +5
Save DC: 13

Cantrips (at will): Light, Vicious Mockery
1st level (4 slots): Bane, Charm Person, Detect Magic, Disguise Self, Silent Image
2nd level (2 slots): Suggestion

Again I think I mostly gave her the suggested starter spells.

Actions

Dagger: +4 to hit, 1d4+2 piercing damage

Longsword: +1 to hit, 1d8-1 slashing damage

Bonus Actions

Bardic Inspiration: As a bonus action, a creature (other than yourself) within 60 ft. that can hear te gains an inspiration die (1d6). For 10 minutes, the creature can add it to one ability check, attack roll, o saving throw. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.

Unsettling Words: As a bonus action, te can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and choose one creature te can see within 60 ft. Roll the Bardic Inspiration die (1d6). The creature must subtract the number rolled from the successivo saving throw it makes before the start of your successivo turn.

That's it for Jasmine! I hope te enjoyed reading. If te have any domande o opinions I'd Amore to hear them in the comments! See te tomorrow with another princess~
