People think she's the most intelligent because she reads. Belle is intelligent, but not the most intelligent.

She reads. And I do not believe it is mentioned anywhere in Beauty and the Beast that she reads educational books.

^^Not really. Honestly, the majority of Belle fans that have loved her for a long period of time, don't act like that. They like that she's a bookworm, but only find her to be the smartest if they don't know who ALL of the DPs are. I guess I'm saying this because I know a lot of Belle fans on other websites.

Honestly, whenever somebody tells me that being 'wise' makes you uber smart... I basically die inside. And, I for one, don't think Pocahontas is wise. Yes, she makes wise decisions, but only with help.

^I agree about Pocahontas. I don't mix wisdom with intelligence. I guess we all view intelligence differently, though it's one of those things where I can't really be biased. I also agree with Belle, and books aren't all there is to her. Plus, her asking the bookseller ''Have you got anything new?'' gives me the idea that she has read all the books in the town's library. She read anything she could get her hands on, she just preferred to read fairy tales.

I didn't vote for Pocahontas because a couple of people do say she lacks common sense (and I agree). Why I voted for Tiana is because she usually ranks higher than Rapunzel on these lists and.... *copy and paste something I wrote before* because she believed every word a talking frog said to her without even questioning herself. Also she knew Naveen and her turned into frogs because of the Shadow Man. Yet, she still went to see another witch doctor without thinking of a back-up plan. Aaand I don't know how she could even think Naveen turned into a human without her when she KNEW there was a fake Naveen out there.

When people say she's oh so wise... no. Just because she thinks differently from others it doesn't mean she's intelligent because of it. She has barely any common sense whatsoever; a talking tree pretty much makes all of her decisions for her. I think Nakoma is more intelligent, even.

She is not that wise, as many said, she just thought differently. Sure, she told them that they are different, but is that intelligence? Wisdom? Or doing what's right?

dclair- Nope. That is stereotypical, and I, as a Belle fan, probably know the other Belle fans better than you. You only see us in a bad light because you absolutely hate Belle. So please don't. It isn't true, it is rude, and very ignorant. We aren't slobbering over Belle talkin' about her only because she is a bookworm, and if you have seen those, then they probably never analyzed Belle close enough and only know her for what is presented. I agree FULLY with Enas on that one

When does anyone say Pocahontas is smart? Laughable to me.

Anyways, yes she reads, but do we know that the others don't read? Tiana reads, Rapunzel reads. I am not saying Belle is not smart, but that is the excuse people use to say she is, but Tiana and Rapunzel have a bigger variety of skills, which Belle does not have. When does she ever use her smarts? To trick Gaston? That is cunning, which many people as about Jasmine (who is not considered extremely smart). If there is anything else, please explain it to me.

Oh and I agree with enas123 too. Most Belle fans aren't like that.

From my experience, Pocahontas has been called smart many times (not just wise). I won't argue, we obviously view intelligence and view what other people say differently.

She can't figure out that since she isn't human that isn't Naveen marrying Charlotte, ESPECIALLY when she knows there is a fake Naveen? And she is often above Rapunzel in these things, like Dimitri_ said.
Also Jasmine, she is cunning and analytical, but she also lacks some common sense.
Also Pocahontas and Belle, but many people don't really talk about how intelligent they are anymore.

Just because she reads a lot, doesn't mean she's smart. She makes heartfelt decisions, often not thought through
