She isn't a Sue, IMO.

Se-seeriously? What was the need of saying "and Mary-Sue"? When couldn't the question just say "Who do you prefer, Mulan or Snow White?" You could have just simply stated your opinions of Snow White in the comments, rather than plunking them with the princesses name, making it less of your personal opinion and more of "Snow White is a Mary-Sue".

But anyways, by far.

The term "Mary Sue" gets thrown around so much it's lost all meaning. When you say "Mary Sue," what do you mean? Idealized? Perfect? Girly? Beloved? Conventional?

How hard would it have been to type "Princess and Idealized" versus "Warrior and Different"? Or something along those lines?

I meant conventional or idealized, basically what a Mary-Sue is by definition, the actual definition. I'm sorry for offending everyone but SnowWhite IS a Mary-Sue by definition, I love her, but it's true.

My favorite as a kid, and now my 7th favorite. Mulan's probably a few spots below her.

Guys, a Mary Sue is perfect - in every single way. Maybe she is stubborn or mean sometimes, but she is always right. Not a naive girl who accepts a posisoned apple from a suspicious-looking lady. And Mady Sues aren't always girly: quite the contrary. Nowadays, most Mary Sues are the action girls/tomboys, who are pitted against the mean girly girl.

There is a Mary Sue test around here: just put Snow White on it (but read the instructions clearly first) and see how many points she gets.

Agreed with Silver. Mary Sues are almost always tomboys or at least not that girly. Speaking of which, I'm sorry I've fallen behind int hat poll and am gonna go do the next round.

Also, I'm sorry, but Mulan fits the Mary Sue traits way better. I'm not saying that because I dislike her- I don't- but she's very idealized and can triumph over anything and is "not like the other girls". Snow is idealized too, though differently, but that was the point. Fairy tale girls ARE supposed to be idealized.

My #5 vs my #6. Both are very admirable.
I am glad that Snow was used as opposite for Mulan, not Aurora. Aurora is more similiar to Mulan because less assertive. I don't like the way the differences were described( and, yes, Snow White is not Mary Sue) but I do agree that they are different. I am not sure if Snow White is the most disimiliar DP with Mulan but amongst Classic DPs she definetely is.
