Merida because it was very foolish of her to give her mum to eat something a weird witch gave her and also because she was just a wanna-be-free kind of rebel, while Mulan was willing to sacrifice herself and fought for her country and family, she was brave and virtuous and really skillful in the battle (more than Merida IMO). Having said that, I really like Merida and consider her a great role model.

By far! I can't stand Merida, all of her acts are stupid, selfis and immature. I never liked these kind of characters. While Mulan is selfless, brave and loyal. She pretty much do everything what she can for her family and home.

I've only seen the movie once, so I can't say a lot about Mulan. But from what I remember, she was a little bit boring to me. Maybe I wasn't paying a lot of attention, but I just don't remember liking her that much. I don't dislike her though, I'm kind of neutral about Mulan.

Merida is one of the few princesses that isn't too naive, but is somewhat trusting. She's a really realistic character, and I like her occasional silliness. I think she's seventh on my list; I just like others better. But I do like Merida too. :)

I love Mulan, and find Merida a poorer imitation of Mulan. I mean, both characters are at the top area of my favorites list, but Merida is more boring, has to keep being rescued by her mother and brothers, and is whinier than Mulan is.

While they're both in my top 5, I absolutely love Merida. She's a much more realistic character than Mulan, who ends up turning into something of a Mary Sue at the end of her movie. I love Merida's flaws and her character development, as well as her capacity to admit her faults and attempt to change them.
