Set in modern day California, Ariana McGill has just turned sixteen. She doesn't fit in with the snobby preppy girls at her school and finds bliss in singing and swimming at the beach with her best guy friend JD. On her birthday, her parents have some news...they found her on the shore when she was just a baby, she had been abandoned. Ariana wants to find where she belongs and where she came from. This becomes a lot easier when she meets a talking crab named Reginald. He informs her that she is the heiress to the throne in an undersea kingdom called Atlantica. Centuries ago, a mermaid princess named Ariel traded her fins for a tail and ever since there has been a line of girls who are human but have merblood in them. Ever since Ariana's parents were murdered by the evil sea emperor, Atlantica has been suffering because of the evil ruler. Ariana must choose to fight to save the kingdom she is the rightful queen of and leave the life she knows behind on a thrilling adventure she'll never forget.

Sounds pretty awesome! Love that Ariel is her ancestor instead of the main character of the story. Reminds me of the two wonderful SyFy mini-series "Tin Man" and "Alice" cause its like a revisitation of those worlds. Very cool! ;)
