they both have great appeals,i just like the Lion King more,i think it's more powerful.but Bambi i think has more appeal w/little kids b/c of the little cutier animals in the spring time:)

Bambi was too depressing

Not only did the Lion King have more excitement (in my opinion), it had a great soundtrack.

i also think the reaon why Bambi was more depressing for some ppl than The Lion King is b/c Bambi was more innoncent of a character than Simba and they are in different psychological eviroments,the other characters expected the same result in both Bambi&Simba,they just thought one should do it faster than the other(Simba would be the one expected to grow up faster b/c he was more of a responsibilty)

The Lion King is easier to watch b/c it's more fun, but Bambi was really influential b/c without it, The Lion King might not exist, and let's face it, can anyone imagine a world without the Lion King? JK!

I love both, and yes, they do have similarities in story structure. The prince is born, learns about the world around him as a kid, loses a parent, grows into an adult, falls in love with his childhood friend, ends up in a battle, is victorious, and at the very end of the movie he becomes a father.
