This isn't a review of Steven Moffat's writing, this is just an opinion/conclusion/observation I've come to. te can agree o disagree with me on this and I'd Amore to hear both sides. I believe Steven Moffat is trying to completely sposta away from Russell T. Davies' Doctor Who series. He changed the look of the TARDIS and the sonic screwdriver. If te think about it, only 2 enemies from the precedente seasons were mentioned again in Season 5, the Daleks and the weeping angels. The Daleks are a classic Doctor Who enemy, while the weeping angeli were something Steven Moffat created himself. He wrote Blink. Also none of the precedente adventures o companions have been mentioned. While in RTD's seasons, The Doctor pined away for Rose, long after she was gone, in Season 5, Rose wasn't even mentioned. Infact the only person who showed up in Season 5 that was from a precedente season, was River Song who showed up in that Silence in the biblioteca episode in Season 4. But that episode too was written da Steven Moffat. Point is, Steven Moffat is trying to get away from the "image" created da Russel T. Davies.
