I was raised on the edge of the countryside in a suburban cul-de-sac where I spent my childhood summer holidays with my best friend who lived in the same road as me. Our other friends just lived a few streets away. We were also known to spend our pocket money on sweets from the local shop that turned our tongues strange colours! Fortunately for us, there was no one in our neighbourhood trying to scam us out of our pocket money, but the overall atmosphere of EEnE (neighbourhood kids of varying ages that all knew each other and saw each other a lot through the holidays – despite not always getting along!) is very similar to my own childhood holidays.
