I hate chain letters in my e-mail box. I do not want to see them in my fanpop updates.

I remember a anno o più ago, link got the mickey taken out of him da DrDevience and others for posting unoriginal chain letters and Rush Limbaugh transcripts as soapboxes. He acted accordingly and removed those articles, and though I think we came down a little unfairly on him, I agreed that chain letters should not be postato as soapboxes, because they are not original work, which was the point of soapboxes in the first place.

You'll notice that, when te post a new article, there is a drop-box asking what type of articolo it is. The options in this drop box include opinion, review, guide, list, fan fiction, o other. Chain letter is not an option, and while some may argue that it should be, I am not in that party. Chain letters should not be lumped under "other" either, though. All the other options are for people's personal words and opinions, not something that's been floating around the net since 1995.

If te really want to post a really cool chain letter, da all means post it in the forums section of the appropriate spot.

Now, I'm not going to point fingers, but there is one user who continually posts chain-letters as "original articles." Sometimes, this user even posts the SAME chain letter as two separate articoli in two different spots. I view this kind of behavior as spam, pure and simple. Even if your intentions are good, te are flooding the spot with chain letters masquerading as original articles. This is not cool. Please do not do this.

This user and the articoli she posts have been grating on my nerves for a while, but what finally made me decide to write this soapbox was a chain letter postato da a user I'm not familiar with, in a spot that shared no relation to the articolo content other than its format. I did not think it belonged there, and I told the user as such. I have not reported it yet, because other users seemed to commento on the articolo with very positive responses.

That's the other thing-- the encouragement! Am I the only one here who is completely annoyed when a friend sends me a chain letter telling me some kind of sob story o funny anecdote than warning me to pass it on unless I want to be attacked da a rabid goat? Some chain letters are cute, I'll grant you, but in relatively long life on the internet (since 1998), I can assure te that I have seen most of them da now and that they have not changed very much in the last eleven years. Please advise users to post chain letters in the forum if they absolutely feel like they must share them. I myself have postato some good chain letters as forum topics (but only the good ones!)

Please, people, leave articoli for ORIGINAL work. It will keep my blood pressure down and I won't have to one-star your article, which I will, and this is fair warning!
