Now, I Amore props as much (or more) than the successivo person and when I go to my page and see that someone has dato me a omaggio I am in a happy little bubble for the rest of the day. I think this is a wonderful feature so that people can be recognized for their outstanding work. However, there is a etiquette that goes along with giving props. Props are something te should give if te feel that a person has contributed something funny, substantial, unique, outstanding, o just plain awesome in your eyes. They are essentially a reward for hard work that te have done. They are like a virtual high five. They are not intended as venue for chatting with Friends o saying hi to someone. It is also not fitting to omaggio back unless te are actually propping that person for something they did, and not just saying thanks to them for the omaggio they gave you. These are both things that can be done through a message. I personally Amore messages almost as much as props, especially if they would be out of place as a prop. One thing I Amore about fanpop is that the people on here are so positive and sweet! Sometimes they are so positive that they are a little overzealous and give people props without a reason o just to say hi. I find it a little disconcerting that some people have 15 o 20 have not contributed anything. I also commonly see people who have props in categories that they have not contributed anything in. For example they have 7 props for video and have not contributed any videos. Benji made this AWESOME forum on the Being Nice spot called "The Hug Topic" which is to recognize people for things that are not "prop worthy' but still deserve recognition (here's the link: link). da the way, I am not Scrivere this soapbox to upset anyone; that is absolutely the last thing that I would want to do, because te are all so awesome! However, I do think that it is important to use this and other features in the way they were intended to be used.

One anno down (and then some) and getting better all the time...
One year down (and then some) and getting better all the time...
OK, OK, so I realize I'm a couple months late for the actual one anno anniversary of the site launch (to anyone outside of the staff), but I still can't let it pass without notice. So I challenge you, the fanpop fan, to write a little something about fanpop, to mostra your appreciation for this site that we've come to know and love.

Since this is the first time we've done one of these things, I'm suggesting haiku to start, because it's short, easy, and most everyone knows how to do it.

However, in case anyone does not remember how haiku works, here's a quick primer. In English, it's simple: a line with five syllables, then a line of seven syllables, then a last line of five syllables. No other structure is necessary.

Here's an illustrative example of the form:

One two three four five
Two three four five through seven
Seven eight nine ten

...which has nothing to do with fanpop. te can do better, can't you?
