Right, I have been thinking about this. I have been thinking about certain things on fanpop recently and as much as I Amore this place there are certain things that irk me.

Hate Spots
I've seen spots that are about hating a certain thing. I thought this place was più about sharing things we enjoy so we can give each other images, links, videos, etc not "oh I hate this and this and this". It doesn't make anything friendly.

Me Me Me Spots
I mean no offence to anyone that has these kinds of spots and has created them but fanpop isn't MySpace o any of those other social networks. It's a different...

Okay everybody on fanpop is a fan of something, te have to be, But what is a true fan? Well, I'll tell you.
According to Webster's Dictionary, a fan is
A:
Function:    noun
Etymology:    probably short for fanatic
1 : an enthusiastic devotee (as of a sport o a performing art) usually as a spectator
2 : an ardent admirer o enthusiast (as of a celebrity o a pursuit) <science-fiction fans>

This is a great definition of a fan of a baseball team o a specific person, such as the Yankees o Brad Pitt. But is that really what the fan on fanpop are? No....

Kidding as usual. Actually, it's Sunday and I have some spare time on my hands so I thought I would write up some points I think need changing with the new layoot and I invite te to CONSTRUCTIVELY make your points in the comments. My idea behind this is to have a collection of concerns that we can mostra the F4. This way instead of ranting and going "OMG I HATE DIS!" we can make ourselves heard. I know the F4 are awesome and have listened to us in the past. Remember the bacheca debacle? Remember how they changed the layoot after we pointed it oot? Remember how they brought back the forums?

EXACTLY!...

I guess you're already kind of resolved about this, but I thought I'd tell te my standing on it anyway.

If I receive messages and bacheca posts asking for me to unisciti spots o 'fan' content from Fanpoppers who I have had no prior contact with, and I'm busy, I simply ignore their pleas, with the sicuro, cassetta di sicurezza assumption that they've sent them to dozens of people, and even if I didn't want to upset them da being non-responsive, they wouldn't notice.
However, when I have nothing on my hands (Fanpop-wise), I tend to check out their content and see if it's any good, and if I think it contributes to the club well,...

or: "Basic information about removing your account"

Special thanks to link, our fanpop guinea pig. (or should I say lab rat?)

Removing your own account is a pretty new feature, many people may not be aware of it yet.
If te go to Edit Profile and scroll all the way down, you'll find:
If you'd like to remove your account, click here.

Now what does this mean?

If te cancella your account, te must know that:
Your contributions will not be deleted.

All your images, links, comments, forum posts, bacheca posts, risposte remain on fanpop, successivo to your username.
If te click on that username however, te will be...

The fanpop website has been around for quite a few years now- 3 years in fact, and whilst it is still relatively unknown compared to the likes of Myspace, Facebook and the so-called phenomenon known as Twitter, it is still for me THE website that I pay a visit to on a regular basis.

Fanpop was formerly a small relatively unknown website, whose number of members have grown, mese da month, anno da year.

With features such as uploading images, submitting website links to other articoli and te Tube video to Scrivere articles, opinion pieces and posting your works of art and creating trivia questions,...

Well, I started using fanpop back in May 2007, and since then I see how the community keeps increasing in numbers which is great. I haven't been the most active user for a while now, but as I detto somewhere else, I've always loved the site and therefore I come back every once in a while to spend some time fanpopping.

There is something I've noticed lately, that is obviously hard to control as the amount of users grows, but I thought I would point it out. What I noticed is a serious misunderstanding of the idea behind the "props" feature.

~ Let's start with the basics, according to the Online...

The concept of the omaggio is wonderful. fanpop is a user based site and users should have the ability to reward others for their hard work. I also agree with the idea behind omaggio Day. It should serve as a reminder to all users to give that reward. However, the omaggio system has become flawed. Very flawed. I happened upon a user profilo and saw several props. I looked to see when the user started Fanpopping and saw that it had only been two months. Wow! This person must have added tons of content. So I looked at the activity. No links had been added, no videos, no immagini (mind you, the profilo had...

I'm not afraid of you, Ghost!
I'm not afraid of you, Ghost!
So I was hanging out on my computer this evening, watching some video and browsing on Fanpop, when I noticed something that disturbed me. In not one, but two different spots. I discovered several examples of what I believe to be "Ghost Accounts".

"Ghost Accounts" are what I'm calling additional accounts created da an already existing fanpop member to skew the results of a pick o an argument in their favor. I have read things postato da other Fanpoppers suggesting their existence in the past, but hadn't knowingly spotted any for myself. Tonight I believe I spotted three different people doing...

Have te noticed that people on this site add lots and lots of things and gain load's of fan then out of nowhere are never adding again o only add now and then. Look through your fan lista and see who is still adding and praise them for there loyalty and praise even più o even omaggio them for their work, they all deserve it.
