FGT is having a haiku contest as a pre-show for the main event happening later in June/July.
RULES
1) It MUST be a HAIKU. Any other type of poem inviato will not be considered for the contest, though it will be appreciated!
2) One user may invia up to three haikus. They may invia less, if they choose. But three is the maximum.
3) All haikus must be inviato da JULY 1ST, 2010.
4) Post your haikus in a commento in this article. I will gather them all into a secondo submissions articolo on JULY 1ST.
I would like two o three people to volunteer to pick their ten preferito haikus and put them into a pick to be voted upon. Haikus will be labeled da numbers and letters in the articolo to try and avoid bias. For example, say someone submits two haikus, and someone else submits three haikus:
1. A) First Haiku
B) secondo Haiku
2. A) First Haiku
B) secondo Haiku
C) Third Haiku
Each number denotes haikus da the same poet, so te can write a haiku series if te want. They will be postato in the order that the poet posts them here.
For those of te who have forgotten, o who have never learned what a haiku is, here is the basic format. A haiku is a Japanese short poem that is three lines long. The structure is as follows:
Five syllables
Seven syllables
Five Syllables
If your haiku bends o breaks the syllable rule da one o two, it will still be considered under the rule of poetic license.
So what are te waiting for, writers? Get cracking and mostra us your best haikus!
