Out Of The Frying Pan…
Rico lowered the launcher again and turned to Skipper. Bandit watched, holding her breath. The outcome… Their fate hung in the balance with Skipper’s successivo move. Rico dropped the launcher and grunted “Na Ah!” He folded his flippers and turned his back on Skipper defiantly but all in vain as Skipper grabbed the launcher. “Grr, Fine, I’ll do it myself!” Skipper aimed the launcher up at the beam supporting what remained of the platform.
MS caught sight of Skipper aiming the launcher, his eyes flashed red as he flicked Bandit and CC onto the chandelier which amazingly, had survived the blast. Rune whimpered as it swung but CC comforted her. “Bandit, what do we do now!?” CC was beginning to sound scared but she needn’t be as Kowalski, Private and Rico grabbed the chain and began to lower the chandelier to the floor. Rune opened her eyes as they were lowered and glanced back up at the beam. “Wait… Where’s the robot!” She squirmed frantically, trying to get a better look. CC too checked the beams but MS was nowhere to be seen. “Bandit? The robot’s gone! It…” She broke off as something in the fuoco caught her eye. It was… Shiny, like silver. The chandelier touched down and CC was whisked off da Rico and Private before she could even speak. Kowalski offered his flipper to help Bandit down but she ignored him and followed Rico and the others out of the church. Kowalski caught up and asked what was probably the most cliché domanda he could possibly ask. “Is everyone alright?” He brushed himself off.
CC hugged Private tightly and sniffed. “I told you… I told te he would…”
Skipper casually approached the others and threw the rocket launcher away. “Well, no way it’s getting outta that!” He spoke in a rather smug manner as he wiped his flippers. Bandit immediately picked up on it and was horrified, her reaction was fully justified. “HOW COULD YOU!” She slapped Skipper with such force that he stumbled backwards and almost fell over. The shock on his face told it’s own story. Kowalski and Rico held her back as she went for another blow “YOU PROMISED!” She stopped struggling and turned away from him. She sniffed quietly, tears began to well up in her eyes as she glanced at the flames. Her crying stopped as she too caught sight of something in the inferno. Like silver. Private was comforting CC as he detto “It must have fallen into the fuoco after it saved them. Do te think… It could survive that?”. Kowalski spoke up “There’s no way of telling until the fuoco dies… It’s likely it was destroyed.” Bandit stared into the flames as they ate away at the wood of the collapsing beams.
Skipper rubbed his cheek and stood beside her. “I did what was needed. The robot is gone and that’s that…” Bandit didn’t respond so Skipper followed her gaze into the fuoco and saw the shiny silver like flash. He stepped closer, as he did, the silver disappeared for a moment. In it’s place, a deep red glow.
