As te can tell from my username, I am a huge Harry Potter fan. However, I wasn’t always. I used to be a Twihard (a twilight obsessed fan-girl). In fact I was one during the early stages of puberty, which is the age where most Twitards fall into the ‘romantic’ trap.

Here’s my story about how I went from ‘Twihard’ to ‘Indifferent’ to ‘Potterhead’:

I first read Twilight as a recommendation from a fellow member of the Teen Advisory Board of my library. I finished that book quickly and moved onto the next. The biblioteca didn’t have Eclipse so I read it ‘Twilight, New Moon, Breaking Dawn, Eclipse.’ I went to the movies, had all the libri and even had a blanket and giacca with Twilight plastered on it.

It didn’t really occur to me that maybe something was wrong with the series until I saw New Moon in theaters. I found myself leaving to go to the bathroom when Bella talked to the Cullens about being changed because I felt sick to my stomach. Even though I had read the libri it didn’t occur to me in my fan-girl haze how much Bella was willing to give up for the boy she shouldn’t even be with until I saw it on screen. At that time I was around thirteen and was very influenced da media, so I thought it was just a random feeling and eventually I went back to the movie.

A while after that I re-read a series I hadn’t since early sixth grade (before my Twilight Phase), that is Percy Jackson and the Olympians. While I read it I felt myself relating più to Annabeth and her feelings towards Percy than I ever did for Bella and Edward. Again, I didn’t really tell people about my new found Amore for Percy Jackson because everyone was into Twilight at my school and I was the first one in my grade to start Leggere it (Small School). I was worried about how people would see me so I acted like I still cared about Twilight, when really I didn’t care.

Then Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 came out and for the first time people I heard normally talk about Twilight seemed to forget it existed. Now I had watched the Harry Potter Film when I was younger, my Friends and I would even run around in the backyard recitazione like we were Hermione and Ginny while the deatheater (a black lab) chased after us, but I never read the books. But as the data for the last movie approached two of my best Friends encouraged me to read the books, and I was hooked.

I’ve been a Potterhead ever since.

Some Reasons I prefer Harry Potter to Twilight:

J.K. Rowling is original. – Smeyer just retold a romance filled with Mary-Sues.
J.K. Rowling put a little of herself into her characters. – Smeyer IS Bella cigno (See Picture above).
J.K. Rowling made Sirus Black a shape shifter first. – Smeyer just changed the first name, added abs, ect.
J.K. Rowling made me think. – Smeyer wants a man to think for me.
J.K. Rowling made us feel like we could be the DA. – Smeyer shows te need to be pretty to be a Cullen.
J.K. Rowling gave me magic. – Smeyer gave me a guide to tell if someone is stalking you.
J.K. Rowling created Quidditch. – Smeyer ruined baseball.

I’ve read fanfics better than Twilight.

Yours Always (Harry Potter fan understand the reference),

The Cullens are weird. Not in a vampiric sense but in common sense. They are trying to stay camouflaged but they keep failing. Lets review, shall we?

1. They go to high school over and over again. They try to blend in with the other non-sparkly, non-Adonis(y), non-vampiry and nonsensical humans. Aside from this, they pout in the cafeteria during lunch hour. Why? They could just eat their lunch elsewhere. They don't eat, so it's unlikely that no one has noticed them not eating.

2. High school is a crowded place. People keep bumping into each other at some point. Let's say the Cullens are very...

I see a lot of Twiight fan arguing the same points over and over again, and frankly, they have no idea what they're talkinng about.

First I'd like to point out:

Some Twilight fan are saying that they are confused with Harry Potter because they haven't read the libri and the Film don't explain clearly enough. Well, guess what, that does not make Twilight better than Harry Potter, it is not out fault te haven't read Harry Potter. When we argue Harry Potter vs. Twilight I was under the impression that we were including both libri and movies, not just the movies. So the fact that your confused...

3. te rip your clothes on purpose.

4. te call people te don't like "filthy mudbloods".

5. te yell "CRUCIO!" at people when te get mad.

6. te carry knives on your person

7. Your desktop background and screensaver are of Bellatrix.

8. Whenever you're typing a word that starts with a "B" o an "L", te accidentally type out a Bellatrix o a Lestrange instead.

9. te think her birthday should...

I found this online. It's a real conversation a bookstore employee apparently had with a Twilight fan. It didn't happen to me. I found it funny, thought te guys might too.

(A customer in her late teens approaches me in the bookstore.)
Customer: “Hey, do te guys sell the Twilight books?”
Me: “Yes, they’re right over there.”
Customer: “Have te read them?”
Me: “Yes, I have.”
Customer: “Didn’t te just Amore them?!”
Me: “Well, actually, they aren’t really my type of book, so–”
Customer: *suddenly furious* “Are te f***ing serious?! These are the best libri ever written! I’m going to tell Edward to come and bite te and drink all your blood!”
Me: *backing away* “Have a nice day, ma’am…”

I was thinking about difference in Harry Potter and Twilight background and this is what I concluded. Enjoy!

Knowledge of magical beings not soo very far from their backyards
Harry Potter: As I can get from HP libri and The Tales of Beedle the Bard, wizarding world was known to Muggles, but because of witch hunt and victims of it in both sides, wizard decided to go underground and not to be commonly know to people. They don`t use spells in front of Muggles and if sombody does manage to discover their secret, they erase their memory.
However, there are exeptions. Families of Mugle-borns ofcourse...

Thank you.

Just so te know, this is a Twilight fan speaking.

Twilight may NOT be the best book ever, i didnt say that it was (keep that in mind), when i read it, i saw alot of flaws, like in breaking dawn, Meyer made it clear that vamps cant inject sperm, and yet, somehow Bella got pregnant. I've read this articolo da XDRoseLuvsHP, and i totaly agree. I believe that People like Twilight più thatn HP because it...

It has a PLOT! It has Subplots. It has several characters with depth.JK is not afraid to sacrifice the good guys. The characters aren't one dementional. JK researches her material, has good use of Latin and history within her books. Spells are named after Latin words and do what the Latin words do. Names of soem characters give hints as to what that character is such as Sirius which means Dog stella, star for più Albus which means White (pure wizard). te can relate Harry Potter to WWII because of similarities te could learn some history from the books.
Harry Potter teaches a good deal about prejudice...
