Okay so I've come to realize how all of this is just pointless. People seem to only compare Twilight and Harry Potter because the two are popular. That is a main reason why those two are being compared now. Now to me I have really found this to be pointless. People are comparing a romantic fiction story to a fantasy fiction story.

Now when I realized this is when a commento was made da a user who goes da the name: justmandi23
on the topic "1000 reasons why twilight is better than harry potter" So what she wrote just made me realize what I did. I postato like a lot of reasons in the topic, "1000 reasons why Harry Potter is better than Twilight" but really I repeated somethings and some of them didn't really have anything to do with why Harry Potter was better than Twilight. So if I were to cut those irrelevant reasons why, then most likely I would be reduced to somewhere around 50 perhaps.

What justmandi23 also detto was that some of my commenti were immature. True I admit that. I was overwhelmed with the idea of beating Twilight, so I got carried away da that idea. So I will try to keep myself under control. I expect from myself to be able so when I grow older.

justmandi23, she, I'm guessing a she, detto that we Harry Potter fans, some o was it most, acted very badly. We were unfair, attacked other people with words, and just didn't give the other side a rebuttal. I've seen sometimes some HP fan insult Twilight and the people who like Twilight. Now I used to think it was okay and I encouraged those HP fan to do so, but now I find that just wrong. People are entitled to their opinions. When I postato an articolo on maturity, but if I look at myself now I'm a total hyprocrite. I was recitazione also immature. I cussed a few times when it was unnecessary too. So I apoligize. It's actually funny how someone can say something but not do it.

Um some fan of Harry Potter had, well if I remember, had really been cruel to Twilight fans. justmandi23 detto what had they ever done to us HP fans. True all they did was state their opinions. We are free to do so as well. But treating them because of what they think that is just wrong. They're humans too right? So we shouldn't say "Oh te can't say that Twilight sucks." No because if we are saying that then why should they allow us our opinions?

Now I know some people stand up for what they beleive in. That is what any person would do. Fight for what they truly beleive in right? But sometimes people go too far when they are standing up for what they beleive in. I know some people might even wish death upon someone who doesn't agree with whatever that person beleived. Twiligth fan did do that sometimes, but I'm not saying that we HP fan haven't done that. Yes some people have done that. I have to say now that that is just bad. That's like what Hitler had done. He killed people who were Jews. If I remember Christians, I'm sure, executed people who didn't follow them in their religious path. Any person now can see that as a wrong thing to do.

Okay if anyone has been following the two topics. "1000 reasons why Harry Potter is better than Twilight" and "1000 reasons why Twilight is better than Harry Potter" te can see that Harry Potter is way ahead than Twilight da reasons. But I'm not bragging, I'm here to say that it's very unfair. We mostly give short reasons, which I did. We probably, whoever inviato any reasons, probably just came up with what random reason we could come up with for Harry Potter is better. I am really ashamed at myself, because I had done that. justmandi23s commento made me realize that. I was embaressed at myself when I read what she had to post. Um yes I am disapointed at myself also. She wrote that yes Harry Potter won with the reasons and all, but it's an empty win. We didn't give the other side a reason why posting in "1000 reasons why Twilight is better than Harry Potter" HP fan had just postato on it bragging on how Harry Potter is better than Twilight. It's very unfair and mean. We just made, and excuse my language, but we made ourselves look like asses. Now people will probably reflect this onto other people who like Harry Potter and think of them as just mean people.

Now when comparing the two libri can it truly be a fair fight? They are both popolare and is known da many people world wide even. But these libri have nothing in common, very few points is what they have in common. Like I detto Twilight is a romance and Harry Potter is a fantasy book. It's a very unfair thing to compare these two. Why not compare Twilight's romance of Bella and Edward to another Amore story. There are many trust me.

Now I'm pretty sure we HP fan are already stereotyping Twilight fan as if they are another ethnic group. We are beginning to think they are immature, their grammar is poor, how they act, what they think, etc etc. It's wrong, if we learned anything from history is that all people are equal. We don't treat anyone differently. I did that before, thinking all Twilight fan were insane. But I have Friends who enjoy Twilight, and they are in fact SANE. I don't treat them differently on what they think neither do they treat me differently on what I think.

Okay I am in fact, again, very ashamed of myself and other HP fan who might of made themselves look very bad. I am dissapointed at myself, I thought I was doing something good, but I wasn't. justmandi23 has made many good points and made me a better person hopefully. Oh yes and also the reason I'm Scrivere this is because well I thought of myself as a very well mannered person. I thought I acted better than Twilight fans, but well really I did make myself look bad. I plan to actually perhaps write a book, o own a resturaunt, o even make a comic. So I don't wanna be viewed as this awful person who should be blogged about on how much of a b*tch I am.

PS: I am in fact a Harry Potter fan okay, I don't really favor Twilight. But I will not from now on go and say to perhaps a Twilight fan, "Oh te suck for liking that book. Harry Potter is soo much better than that garbage. te are stupid for liking Twilight." No I will not say that, I'm not going to go treating people like scum for something they like. But if so, let's say they attack my first I might retaliate.

Mrs-Grint Yes, I agree with what your saying, I've seen the comments on that forum which are totally innapropriate. But I think it's a little unnecessary to compare us to Hitler, I mean, c'mon, we're not THAT bad. Alot of people are being too childish and learn to be polite to people, it's kinda pathetic really, that you have to tell people this, when they're like, how old? I rest my case.

Kersian Yes lol I just had to give like the idea of what I was getting to, so I had to use an analogy to Hitler. Perhaps I could of use another way of explaining it, but I was ranting a little bit.

LadyLilith You have every right to rant. :) I have noticed that, people being completely immature on both sides. You really cannot compare Harry Potter to Twilight; they are basically nothing alike. But people need to grow up and be a little nicer, it's ridiculous to say that people are stupid/have no life/whatever just because they like something and dislike something else. I hate Twilight and love HP, but thats just my opinion. I try not to be mean to anyone, because it's simply childish.

amandaj Great rant! I've noticed that (some, not all) people from both sides act very immature and bad sometimes, but fortunately this doesn't seem to reflect the majority, at least not according to my experiences. I think it's a bit sad how this Harry Potter vs Twilight thing has taken over completely, and shifted the focus from discussing and sharing opinions about the movies/books people have enjoyed to focusing on bashing on the opposite sides, being very rude and disrespectful towards each other, all because our likes and dislikes are all different. I feel like all people should be more respectful towards one another. I don't see the need to compare the books, to me they are too different. Although I see why people want to compare in the means of writing style/quality, I don't get why some people feel like they have to insult others while doing it. I think that we rather should focus on the positive side in all this: that it's about two different book series, that many people enjoy, and that has gotten many people interested in reading.

nati30 i just come on here to speak my thoughts and listen to other peoples point of view, when i heard peopl were comparing twilight and hp i was just like oh i have to see this. and its fun to come here and i always get a good laugh when i read a strictly all capital letter and exclamation mark comment made by a pissed of twilight fan, im not trying to change anyone's opinion i just hate it when peopl who havent read HP critisize it, whhic is why i come here. i dont really think the debate is ever going to end because there will always be peopl whi think hp is better or the other way around, still its fun to hear other ppls point of view and ive even learned a couple new things about hp & twilight i never knew or just forgot.

Kersian Yes exactly, it's like comparing... well I'm bad with analogies so I'll just go with what I think sounds good, it's like comparing two good deserts, let's say chocolate mousse and passion fruit mousse. Get what I'm saying? They are different, one is chocolate and the other is fruit, but they do share some similarities that are obvious. Still the two are very different to actually be compared.

Sworn_Alliance In this metaphorical war there has been good and bad on both sides. Twihards and Potterheads give a bad name to us all. I personally feel embarassed when someone makes a comment like "I read Twilight yesterday" and all the Potterheads jump on them saying "Ur Gay 4 reading that! HP is SOOOO much better!" now reverse the side and that's exactly what we accuse all Twihards of doing. I hate Twilight with a passion, but this is taking it too far.

Novaranger HP and Twilight fans are equally intelligent, and stupid. Of course Twilight fans go overboard MANY times, so does Harry Potter fans! Those who worship "Black magic?" (I'm sorry I have never read Harry Potter before, only watched the movies, forgive my incorrections). I personally whould side on HP but we must not bash the fans only for liking it! Ones that annoy us? Example: Twihards, Harry potter tards? There everywhere! Insulting us normal, intelligent fans who love to debate, not bash and trash.

metman5715 No reason to agree less than 100% on this article. What gives either side the right to completely trash the other. I am a die-hard, never give in Harry Potter fan. But I never go around saying some of the things I have seen on both sides. A good, friendly debate is never a bad thing. And maybe you want to throw a joke or two in the mix, that is fine by me. But stereotyping all fans of one as the same is just not fair. I have many Twilight friends. We may have a jocular debate, but nothing said is ever meant entirely. I applaud all those who realize this and hope that all fans on both sides can just agree to disagree and move on. That's my two cents. Hope you enjoyed.

HecateA I did metman5715. This article has a point. Debating is good, its fun sometimes, but people like Twilight and you cant change it, no matter how hard you try (if you do good luck). Now that the debate has started, it might never end until both books die out (forbid that). I hope all the people who take it too far will read this article and learn how to tone it down and where the caps lock button is, and how to turn it off. Oh, this sucks, you're a loser because you like this. Yadda yadda. PS. I'm a Harry Potter fan. I don't really like Twilight, but does that give me reason to flip out at someone who is vice versa? No, not at all.

mina_sit i think that the fans of both sides are rude because they are obessed. i'm a hp fan and i really hate twilight for billion reasons and a lot of people in this spot are like this. the best solusion for both "sides" is to try to find what is good in the "enemy" series for example: one good thing in t.s. is that learn to young girls not to have reckless sex but only with the one they love ps: sorry if i sounded like a shrink...

Luna_Fan ok. the first thing i ever really read cover to cover was harry potter one. it took me three days to read it to get everything that goes on in the book. i still missed a lot of things. twilight is a different story. although i was a faster reader when i read twilight (faster reader because of HP of course) it took me less than a week to read the four books of twilight when it take me two or three weeks to read all of HP. i used to like twilight. i have recently come to my sencese. HP will always be the best....no matter what anyone says!!!!

LOLDev I really do admire your courage, and now I suddenly feel horrible for writing against twilight on the "1000 reasons why twilight is better" it's true, we didn't really give them a chance, and they've been much more tolerable and respectable with us, despite us constantly repeating good reasons, or, in some cases, making up empty reasons. but I also agree that comparing us to Hitler was pretty terrible in perspective. Also, another issue I have: You stated that it wasn't right for us to compare 2 different genres of books, right? but, we always compare genres. think about it, if you compare a Twilight book/movie (Vampire teen romance) to some other Vampire teen based media (Say True Blood, or Vampire Diaries), you're hardly to find anything to disagree or discuss. "Okay yeah, the fight scenes are different, they have different names, but everything's the same. End of story" That's not very fun I mean, we compare different music genres constantly. Rap vs Rock Blues vs Jazz Classic vs. Contemporary Why can't we do the same with books? Now, I know that us HP fans have been TERRIBLY rude to the Twi fans, but we all also have to realize that this is the internet, and alot of people cower behind the internet while they post degrading, rude and just terrible comments on just about anything, and why? because we CAN,without having to worry about getting punched in the face. Everyone may just have to grow up a bit and realize that there's always gonna be a group of assholes to knock you down, especially online. However, I don't think us HP fans should be the ones to do this, especially for something so trivial as one book vs. the other. I regret what I've done. And I'm also doing this because the Twilight fans are good enough to put up with this, instead of constantly complaining. So yeah, sorry Twihards <3333

Kersian I'd like to note something about this article and where I stand in the "battle" between the fans of the two books. Well I won't change much on what I have said, but it seemed I was writing down my epiphany out of impulse; although, it was rushed from my head. My analogy with Hitler was a bit off when I think about it again, but I have seen cases where Harry Potter fans have blamed the behavior of stereotypical teenagers from Twilight saying it has contributed it mainly to that effect. In the way I saw it, it was basically the same case. A scapegoat. I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but I have yet to seen a formal debate between the fans of the two books. To comment on LOLDev's comment just now, I actually do agree with what you say. Mainly on the part with comparing two different things, but I do believe on some cases it's up to personal preference. It's like trying to argue that peanuts are tasty to somebody who is allergic to them. So some things are either up to us whether we like it or not, or just out of our control. Again just I have said, Harry Potter does have a more developed story. Twilight, I feel could of had more dept and feeling into it, but only one thing ruined it. I think people can guess what that is. Sparkles. As a society we had held this common view of a 'vampire' to be a killer with a thirst for blood. Even changing into a bat at times. Though in the 'modern' society, some people have changed it into their view of what a vampire is. We've moved from a terror icon to a more affectionate (sexual) icon. So in Twilight, Meyer changed vampires to her own ideal character; breaking the very canon features to a vampire. To the point her breaking the cliche of vampire was like changing a canon character into something that was very unexpected. Which leads to some people comparing her book to a fanfiction. That's just how I can explain my beliefs.

LOLDev To Kersian, I completely agree with what you just wrote. entry, overall was spectacular, and it really opened my eyes. And don't worry, that hitler analogy was just one thing, and it's understandable. It really is disappointing, however, to see the immaturity behind all of this Twi vs. HP commotion, and unfortunately, like you stated previously, "People seem to only compare Twilight and Harry Potter because the two are popular" and that really shouldn't be the reason to compare. Twilight generally was an interesting concept, I'm not going to lie, and I could gladly take in whatever anybody has to say about it, good or bad. If said girl claims to be able to connect with Bella, I'll accept that. What probably upset me though, is the large hype. It took Harry Potter several years to become well known, and Twilight did it in a matter of months. Hell, I congratulate Meyer for being able to do this. But since many HP fans find that Rowling's series was better than the TS, it was upsetting to see all this hype and commotion for the series. Still, I really would love to have a good discussion with a fan of Twilight, and not to compare two popular books through their fandom, but to compare two relatively good books through themes, characters and plot concepts.

Ecco Really? I agree with them being two different stories, but I think Twilight fans tend to be more um whats the word? physco about their book. I think Potter fans who act immature are a LOT less crazy than a few Twihards who actually tried to drown a fifth grader in a toilet because they said they didnt like twilight and a twihard that stabbed somebody with a pair of scissors because that person said they didn't like it either. I know all fans dont act like that but there are some that do.

VampiresRevenge ^ So you're going to assume that overall Twilight fans are crazier than HP fans because of a few idiots who like the book? Liking something does not make a person act a certain way. A certain fandom does not attract more crazy people than another one does. There are crazy people everywhere who happen to like things, so don't think that because they like something that everyone else who likes it is also crazy.

I am a Twilight fan, and let me spell it out for you:

-I'd say, "Yeah, I'm one of those crazy Twilight people." But no, I'm really not.

-Edward is a too melodramatic and can suck my inexistant dick.
