If anyone was not much like their character in the books, it was Severus Snape. Alan Rickman is a great actor, and I think his portrayal is amazing (seriously, I think he's amazing), but Snape in the books was this complete jerk. In the movies, they made him out to be this total badass, when he isn't, at all. With the movies, he seemed more like a good guy, more like the character you would love. In the books, he's more split. There's nothing wrong with the movie portrayal, but I'm just answering the question.

Emma plays Hermione perfectly but in my opinion Emma's much more beautiful than she should be for that role. JK herself says that Hermione is not the beautiful type of girl, she's just the nerdy loyal friend ready to help anyone who's in need.
