He was already torn between good and evil. But when he killed his mom he just went over. I doubt he will become good.

Actually, I think that Sylar went over the line when he killed Brian Davis and took his brain. Killing his mom did only pushed him even further.

I'm hoping for a bit of redemption. I don't want him to turn all sparkly-unicorns-and-bunnies in a completely unbelievable way, but I want little bits of Gabriel to resurface at times (like we saw when he called Mohinder... and we all know Mohinder should play a large role in the Sylar storyline ;) )

I think he'll be a questionable entity, doing bad things for good reasons and good things for bad/selfish reasons.

he may fall in love with Maya, becoming divided..

Since this has been asked, he's already made a choice to try being good. I still think he saved Peter. :-)

Yeah he loses his powers which sucks but at least he got his intuitive aptitude and telekinesis back and got even cooler powers than he got before which rocks

Well, in the end of the series, he does turn good.
