I would go out with Kaoru because he is nicer, più mature, and smarter (a bit). Kaoru is my number one preferito character and he is really nice to everyone in the host club, though he acts like a "devil". In the manga he gave up Haruhi for Hikaru and that is why I think he is nicer. So, complessivamente, generale I would pick Kaoru. <3
