My superiore, in alto 10 preferito Horror Movies!

So, I've been on fanpop for about a anno and 3 months o so now and in that time, I think I have only written maybe 1 o 2 articoli so I'm not really familiar with these. But I had been thinking about doing this for awhile in this spot, and since it's 1 am it's the perfect time! I always come up with the best ideas when I'm supposed to be sleeping. So anyway, here is my lista of superiore, in alto 10 preferito horror movies. They might include some spoilers, so beware.

One
A Nightmare on Elm Street 1984

I Amore this movie SO much! It's so weird because Halloween used to be my preferito horror movie, but upon multiple viewings this movie has made it to my number one horror. The theme Musica is terrifying & cool at the same time, and the plot aspect that he kills te in your dreams is just really awesome.

Two
Saw series 2000's

I was originally going to use just Saw 1, because it IS my preferito but the fact is that I adore the whole series. I know there are a lot of people in here who don't appreciate the Saw Film and that's fine but I think they're brilliant & I'm a hardcore Saw fan. The first is brilliant, and started it all and eventhough 2-5 (so far) are just bloodbaths, there's still the level of suspense & surprise.

The Descent 2005

I went into this movie expecting to Amore it, and when it first started I liked it. As it got più into it, I was annoyed da all but one of the female characters (the lead, Shauna) and wanted to turn it off but I kept it on and it wound up being something I would rave about for many years to come. I Amore this movie SO SO much, and I Amore how it all plays out. The blood pool is just so disgustingly awesome, and I Amore how these women turn into animali themselves to stay alive from these creatures. Awesome creatures btw. And all this coming from someone who typically does not enjoy "creature" horrors.

Scream 1996

If nothing else, this movie is here for nostalgia purposes. It was NOT the first horror movie I saw, but it was the first horror movie that started my ~obsession~. I saw this in the theater when it came out (and 2 and 3 of course), and after that anno seeing this movie I became obsessed with the genre. I think this is a great movie overall, but it's on the lista because it needs recognition for me being here in this spot, making this list!

Halloween 1978

What can I say, this is just a classic! I actually don't watch horror Film to get scared, and I don't find too many of them scary but Michael Myers (for reasons unknown) scares the !!!! out of me! I've had nightmares about him. This movie deserves a ranking in this lista too for that reason alone.

Amusement 2009

This is one of those Film that is unheard of. It just came out this anno on straight-to-DVD release, and it looked amazing so I had to check it out. It's basically about a guy from grade school who holds a grudge on these 3 women who ~made fun of him~ and now he's seeking revenge on them. There are 3 separate stories on how each of the girls got caught, and the rest of the film is them fighting for their lives. Incredibly interesting, and amazing cinematography. It's a must-see!

Rosemary's Baby 1968

This movie being on this lista is pretty strange for people who know me well. I'm a slasher fangirl, I like all the gore I can get! But this movie just isn't that. I actually watched this movie every other night to put me to sleep (the movie I watched on the other nights was Murder da Death, which is my preferito ever). I know all the words and everything, and this is just a beautifully acted film and is put together so well. This movie makes me appreciate older, più classic horror from time to time.

Candyman 1992

This movie terrified me when I was a kid! It's the scariest horror film I've ever seen. It can't be explained, but this movie just goes to certain places that most other films won't. It was a great movie for its time, and it's still great now!

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003

Yeah yeah, I know. It's a remake! I actually really enjoyed this film an incredible amount. I have seen the original and I don't really like it. This one makes my cuore race, in a very good way!! The performances were very good, and though I'm not a fan of Jessica Biel she did splendid in this role. This movie is so great, I could watch it numerous times!

Ten
The Strangers 2008

This isn't a slasher, but it's really suspenseful. I loved this movie, and it made me jump half a dozen times at least! I loved all the suspense build up and the ending was amazing. I don't really want a sequel but I'm sure its inevitable there will be one. This is a great data movie, if only so te can cling onto someone's arm.

rosangie "Scream": "but it was the first horror movie that started my ~obsession~" It happened the same to me, I think we were born on the same here so I guess that´s why. I LOVED all te scream movies, they were SO scary at the time...and that´s probably why I should still count them as my favorite movies, but I can´t lol. A few years ago I watched Scream 2 again and it didn´t scary me at all. I was so disappointed and forgot all about those movies. Yeah, sure I grew up. But hey that didn´t happen with "It" or ". I Shinning". I also watched those movies when I was very, actually too young to watch them, and they still scare me. In my opinion, the Scream movies turned into a cliché, because of the major commercial success they got and because a LOT of other movies were inspired by Scream. Those movies, which I also enjoyed watching when I was young, like "Urban Legend" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer", were like a copy of Screams so, I always had the feeling I was watching the same thing over and over again. Who cares, I liked it anyway....but now, I just can´t. With that being said, I applaud you though for including Screams on your list. They deserve it because of what you said, which is totally right ("but it was the first horror movie that started my ~obsession~"). "Saw": I have to say that I´m not a big Saw fan, but there are a couple of movies that I enjoyed watching, like Saw2 and Saw3. The last one was disappointing. The first one, although the plot was also very interesting, there wasn´t so much action. The onyl thing that makes "Saw" not one of my favorite moves, are the constant flashbacks. I don´t care about the people, I don´t care what they had been through! I think they focused too much on every single character (not just the main one) and that made the movies a little bit boring, in my opinion. I just want more suspense, more terror, more blood, more whatever! =) "Amusement": I liked that movie as well, I just wished the killer was more clever. Yes, he was messed up and all, but he also seemed a bit dumb. "Rosemary's Baby": LOVE that movie, and it´s one of my favorite horror movies ever!! "Candyman": I totally agree. It still terrifies me (and I still don´t dare saying candyman on the mirror ^^). The "Descent", The "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Nightmare on Elm Street": totally agree with what you said. By the way, what do you think of "Jeepers Creepers" (because I´m sure you have seen it)? Great ideia article, Heather. ;)

jlhfan624 Thanks for the comment! :) I really hope you make your list! I'm sure I'll like most of it since it seems we have similar taste! I understand why you don't like Saw that much, I CAN understand why most people don't but it's just one of those breakthrough series for me. Everything all fits together in the end AND I get all the gore I want, so it's perfect! I have seen Jeepers Creepers, and at first I didn't like it. I thought it was so dumb, the ending with him being a butterfly or whatever. But it's kinda stuck with me over time. I do like it, it's just not one of those movies that I squee about.

rosangie lol I agree with you about Jeepers Creepers. The ending was in fact a bit silly. I also liked it but would never consider it was one of my favorites. I think what I most like about the movie is all the running away from the "thing". In that aspect I find it similar to the Hitcher, which I love (the first one, obviously). Anyway, just wanted to know your opinion about it.

jlhfan624 I don't think I have ever seen The Hitcher remake now that I think about it. I do love the remake though, I thought it was pretty well put together and it wasn't just gore (which I do love don't get me wrong!) but I liked the suspense and wondering where he was going to be where they were. Jeepers Creepers had good acting. I like the lead girl in it, she was in Dead & Breakfast...I wish she did more though.

kissandtell_kt i may be only 16 but im a super huge fan of horror and have seen almost all of them, from the oldies to the cheepish ones. this is a good article and almost all the movies up there are really amazing.this article just makes me want to go on a horror movie marathon.
