Half-arsed attempt at an image for this anno
Half-arsed attempt at an image for this year
For Fanpop's third annual Human Rights Awareness month, which I have organized every anno since 2008 (OK, for two years), I am going to do...

Absolutely nothing.

And I am terribly guilty about it. o I was. I'm disgustingly busy this year, so much that I barely have time to fanpop at all, let alone head an entire campaign that, let's be honest, only a handful of people on fanpop really care about anyway.

But I know that the people Leggere this articolo are part of that handful of people who do care about Human Rights, and about HRAM on fanpop this December, and were maybe even wondering, "Hey, how come Cinders hasn't made a peep about HRAM and it's already the sixth of December?" (Sappp, I'm thinking of you).

So for those of te who do care, I want to say this - thank you. And I want to say that I don't feel guilty about not doing much for HRAM this anno because I'm worried that people will forget about Human Rights, o won't appreciate it as much without HRAM (like that ever happened anyway). I'm sad because I'm letting the few people who DID enjoy HRAM, and DID think più about helping out our fellow human beings this month, down.

So to you, I wanted to say - don't despair! Change your icon, change your motto, change your attitude, and go out on fanpop (and off of it) and make a difference in someone's life. As our slogans of the past have often stated, spread hope this season. Remember that December is that time of anno that regardless of your religious creed, te think about those who are less lucky than te are, who have less than you, and yet are doing the best with it. And while this is something I try to remember all year, because people need Amore all anno round, it's something I especially like to emphasize during this season.

To those of te Leggere this that, HRAM o not, always go out this time of year, o any other time, and help those who need it, love those who need it, to te I say - kudos. te are marvelous human beings who don't get the credit te deserve, and are maybe even stepped on o insulted for whatever reason. But te have hope in your heart, and that's admirable.

And to those who are Leggere this articolo just for kicks and giggles, who think December is a time for commercialism and over-indulgence, I say - FEEL GUILTY. That's right, I'm not afraid to play the guilt card. I feel guilty, so te should too. Hanukkah and Natale and the recente Eid are all wonderful celebrations and times for family and gift receiving, but remember that "family" are not just your blood o your best friends. Family is the human race, and it's important to be aware that the world is not always kind, and not always fair, and not always generous, but there is beauty there, and I dare te to go out there and find it where te least expect it to be.

For now, that is all. Expect another articolo from me in the future about the strides we have made this anno in human rights achievements.

Dates to remember this season:

December 1: World AIDS Day
December 2: International giorno for Abolition of Slavery
December 3: International giorno for Persons With Disabilities
December 6: Canada's giorno of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
December 9: International Anti-Corruption Day
December 10: International Human Rights Day
December 15: Bill of Rights giorno (United States)
December 16: giorno of Reconciliation (South Africa)
December 17: International giorno to End Violence Against Sex Workers
December 18: International Migrants Day

And don't even get me STARTED on why I haven't launched fanpop Secret Santa this year.
A very humanizing and balanced look at the conflict, giving a fair amount of information and most of all promoting peace and cooperation among Israel and Palestine's younger generation.

An interesting case study we looked at in my human rights course was that of link, a German cannibal whose link

According to the UNDHR (link), human rights are inalienable and a person cannot even voluntarily give them up. This is a major point of controversy, and understandably so. We don't have the right... to give up our rights?

It was this main clause in the UNDHR that prompted German judges to convict Meiwes of torture and murder.

But it still begs the question... Should we have the right to voluntarily give up our human rights? If Meiwes victim truly wanted to be eaten , who are we to say...
