Could in the flesh be returning as a movie? 

Back in January, the BBC announced that it would no longer commission

In The Flesh, however last night (Wednesday 14th October) writer Dominic Mitchell has hinted that a movie of the popular series might happen.

In The Flesh ran for two series on BBC Three (2013-2014) and when in January 2015 BBC Three released a statement saying they were “very proud of the two award-winning series of

. However, given there is only budget for one original drama series a year on the channel it won’t be returning”.

Fans all over social media were calling on the BBC to change their minds, and were even calling on Amazon or Netflix to pick up the drama in which Luke Newberry played ‘partially deceased teenager Kieran Walker, who died in 2009 and returned as a rabid zombie, along with thousands of others.

Whilst details of what story the film would tell were kept under wraps, Dominic invited

 fans to let him know which questions they’d like answered. Many fans were wanting to know why Amy was being investigated and wanted to see more from Kieran and Simon’s relationship.

So it seems that if a film were to happen, it will at least answer the most popular question on social media “What happened to Amy?”, with Dominic Mitchell agreeing that “we have to finish the story”.

I’ve always admired Dominic for wanting to continue the story for his fans, and have to say

 is definitely one of the strongest dramas BBC Three have ever produced and I really hope the movie does happen.
