I have a few issues and domande about the events shown in Kate's flash-forwards during season 4 of Lost. The first issue is regarding her trial. I'm not an expert on the legal system in America, but wouldn't any jury be instructed to focus only on the evidence provided to them during the trial and the domanda of whether she did murder Wayne? They'd be told to ignore factors such as her being a single mother o her new celebrity status post-crash. Those could possibly be taken into consideration with sentencing, but not the actual jury verdict. Jack should have been dismissed as a character witness too, probably before he was even summoned to court, since he hadn't met her when the alleged crime took place. And I don't understand why the prosecution wouldn't also focus on the later crimes she committed while on the run.

The secondo issue is that no one questioned Kate's claim that she was Aaron's biological mother. She was saying that she'd been 6 months pregnant when the plane crashed, while Claire was 8 months pregnant. That would make Aaron 2 months younger than his real age. There would be noticeable differences in his size and development, and it wouldn't really be believable to claim that he was advanced for his age having been born on an island with limited supplies. Kate couldn't claim that he'd been born prematurely either, because they'd have lacked the medical equipment needed for him to have survived. No one checked CCTV footage from the airport o any jail o police station where she might have been held previously, which would have shown that she didn't look pregnant at the time. raggio, ray Mullen, the farmer she lived with during her flashback in Tabula Rasa, could have revealed that she'd been drinking and using sanitary products during the time she was supposedly pregnant. She was staying with him for over 3 months. I'm surprised that no one looked into the idea that she was lying, particularly with how Edward Mars had been deliberately triggering her in order to have a reason to physically restrain her. That wouldn't have looked good with her being supposedly pregnant at the time. The revelation of this lie would also bring the honesty of her entire testimony into question.
