 The Princeton Public biblioteca
The Princeton Public Library
Princeton Public Library of Princeton, New Jersey
While the link is a representation of the traditional library, the Princeton Public biblioteca is an image of a modern library. Even as one walks da the biblioteca it is instantly clear that it is 'modernity' reincarnate. Situated in the cuore of Princeton, NJ and is adjacent to the majestic Princeton università campus, the architecture departs from traditional red brick and grey stone walls for glass and steel, and evokes Frank Lloyd Wright with its geometric outdoors.

As the saying goes, "You can't judge a book da its cover" so as I walked in I was prepared to disappointed da a ratty indoors. Luckily, I wasn't! The biblioteca reminded me of a Borders o Barnes & Nobles (which is a compliment in this situation) with its setup; three colorful floors completely filled with books, couches and tables, and one hundred computers for patrons to use. The bottom floor is dedicated for Fiction & Audiobooks; the secondo floor for Non-Fiction & DVDs; the third floor for Children & Teens. All areas are spacious and well-lit, and seemed like a generally pleasant place to be.

Besides the traditional biblioteca book areas, the building is also host to a cafe, community center, and biblioteca store (!).

Library Store:
From the website: "The biblioteca Store offers a wide selection of gifts and useful items for the reader and writer – everything from pens to scrivania, reception accessories, note cards to pillows, card games and puzzles to jewelry and picture frames. We carry literary-themed household items such as coasters and foto albums. A wide selection of biblioteca logo items are also available." The biblioteca Store is staffed da volunteers. If interested in volunteering, contact the store manager, Chris Canfield, at 609-924-9529, extension 283.

The biblioteca is the most beautiful place in the world. I’ve always wondered why children my age don’t like going, there’s always so much to see and know. It’s a place to stop and rest from all the roughness of the world; it is a labyrinth for the great thinker, who at any time can sit and rest and camp for the night, never knowing what turn to take tomorrow. We all need this escape from the rest of the world, and simply into our own mind.
There is simply no better way to find the entrance to that escape than da starting with others. There...
