Michael fan have been called Michaelers since the early 90s. It was sometimes thought to reference collecting memorabilia, but fan would call themselves Michaelers and say "keep Michaeling" . I'm not sure when they started calling themselves moonwalkers, probably after a website called them that, which was later shut down for impersonating Michael. sadly, some of the Citazioni from that site are still attributed to MJ. But he never called fan "moonwalkers," it was più personal to him and he called them "My fans" o "the fans".
