Actor Michael Cotter is asking lots of domande in Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film “Inherent Vice."

Michael teams up with Reese Witherspoon to interrogate detective Larry "Doc" Sportello, played da Joaquin Phoenix. Set in Los Angeles in the 1970’s, the film follows the drug-tripping detective as he investigates a disappearance.

fan will remember Michael for his role opposite Brandon Routh and Sam Huntington in the cult indie-hit “DYLAN DOG: Dead of Night.” He’s also appeared on several Televisione shows including recurring roles on “Scrubs”, “Help Me Help You” and “Shark.”

And successivo year, Michael will unisciti Mark Feuerstein, Jaima Mays, Stanley Tucci, Rebecca Romijn, Marcia Gay Harden and Taye Diggs for the indie comedy, “Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant.”

I recently caught up with Michael Cotter to find out più about “Inherent Vice.”

Tell us about your role in "Inherent Vice”.

MICHAEL: I play Associate District Attorney Rhus Frothingham in the film. He works in the same office, sitting across a scrivania, reception from Penny, played da Reese Witherspoon.

How was it to work alongside Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix?

MICHAEL: It was an amazing experience. Both of them were really cool to work with. They are both A lista actors at the superiore, in alto of their game and I felt like after they got to know me a little bit, they both opened up and really allowed me to jump into this crazy world with them and play.

What would te consider your characters ‘best’ quality? And their ‘worst’?

MICHAEL: Rhus’s best quality, especially for his job as an ADA is that he is a really hard worker and is always trying to do the extra thing to get ahead at his job. He uses this as healthy motivation to try and keep ahead of Penny at his job. His worst attribute is that he has no sense of humor. He is very da the book and takes his job too seriously at times. Both Penny and Doc would probably appreciate it if he let down his guard just a little bit at times.

Any interesting stories from the set te can share with us?

MICHAEL: One of the coolest moments on set was when we were shooting the secondo scene I was in and on the very first take when shooting the master shot, about half way thru the scene, Reese and Joaquin began to improvise. I was unaware of this, but apparently Paul had told both of them to do this, so I was caught in the scene, not knowing where it was going. It was a great exercise about listening and just staying present in the moment. I made it thru the first take and then after that, Paul allowed the 3 of us to continue to improv the whole middle part of the scene for the successivo 5 hours. It was such an amazing opportunity and basically allowed me to play around with a couple of A lista actors and just see where the scene would take us. It was absolutely a blast!

What’s the biggest lesson te learned from working on this project?

MICHAEL: I think the biggest thing I learned was to just be open and present in the moment and trust that, especially when te are working with such amazing people as these, that it is sicuro, cassetta di sicurezza to just go and play. Especially in the scene that was improvised, it felt like a chance to prove my recitazione chops and I think I held my own, which was a great feeling.

And, now just for fun:

What’s your preferito food?
MICHAEL: Mom’s chicken parm!

Gatti o dogs?
MICHAEL: Cat, singular. più than one gets to be too cat-lady like. ;)

preferito movie from your childhood.
MICHAEL: Spaceballs!

Tell us one thing that would surprise our readers to learn about you.
MICHAEL: I Amore to play ultimate frisbee. Not a sport that a lot of people know, and often confused with frisbee golf (which is totally different!), but it is a sport I Amore to play here in LA anno round and it’s a great way to get some cardio!

How can fan keep up with you?
MICHAEL: te can always follow me on Twitter: link o my website: link

And if you’re in LA, it’s the closing weekend of the West Coast premiere of a play that I’m in, called Reasons To Live, at the link

Thanks so much for taking the time! Hope te all enjoy the film! It opens in NY & LA Dec. 12 and nationwide Jan. 9.

Was 'On Stranger Tides' The First & Only High Seas Adventure For Angelica?
Was 'On Stranger Tides' The First & Only High Seas Adventure For Angelica?
Walt Disney Pictures decided to swap Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – the fifth installment in the theme park ride-based movie franchise headlined da Johnny Depp as the slippery scallywag Jack Sparrow – out from the Summer 2015 lineup this week (right after the studio repositioned Marvel’s Ant-Man to takes its place), rather than rush the swashbuckling blockbuster down the assembly line as fast as conceivably possible.

The Dead Men Tell No Tales script is still being written da Jeff Nathanson (Rush ora 2 & 3), who took over from Pirates 1-4 co-writers Ted Elliott...

Bought this film on a whim. Have to say that I'm glad I did.

The story centres around James Nesbitt's character Peter, who lives alone on a remote Scottish island running a lighthouse. Through flashbacks we see his precedente life as a family man with a successful career and how he came to be alone. Simply, it's a tale of 'you don't know what you've got until it's gone'.

Nesbitt lives alone, not speaking for most of the film. With a lesser actor this would have likely become tedious but Nesbitt carries the performance well.

However, it's the arrival of a young ship-wrecked girl named carlotta, charlotte that...

Inception, the highly anticipated sci-fi epic from Christopher Nolan, finally arrives. I’ve been waiting for this movie for a quite a long time now (maybe two years).
