The pair were just two of the ITV period drama's cast to attend the star-studded ceremony at the Beverly Hilton, where Downton is up for Best TV Drama.
The show, which recently finished its fourth series in the UK, is in a tough category, up against Breaking Bad, The Good Wife, House of Cards, Masters of Sex.
Last year, Dame Maggie Smith won Best Performance da an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series o Motion Picture Made for Television.
In 2013, the mostra was also nominated for Best Performance da an Actress in a Televisione Series - Drama for Dockery and Best TV Drama, but Lost out in those two categories.
In 2012, Downton was named Best Mini-Series o Motion Picture Made for Television.
While Downton is still making waves at the US award shows, it was controversially snubbed from the big prizes at last years' BAFTA Televisione Awards - the only nomination being Best Production Design.
