I think we're forgetting that despite the fact that nate's a great guy, he's screwed up so many times and hales almost divorced him recently cause she was just tired of his constant screw ups. Peyton only had to do deal with nate for so long before she realized she deserved better. After that her streak was near flawless...The guys she was with treated her like she was a goddess...

peyton instantly found her true love (I love you lucas. and I think I have since the moment we first locked eyes) and even when they weren't together, luke was constantly saving her. Jake was amazing and so was Pete. Nate was the only ill-choice but she remedied that soon enough :)
haley didn't even like nate at first - but once she got to know him she was "smitten", lol. those two have been through a LOT as a couple. though nate's a good guy, he put her through alot.
