The Clone Club is getting a Rorschach remix thanks to graphic artist Jeff Langevin, whom EW can exclusively announce as the winner of BBC America’s
Langevin’s piece features Tatiana Maslany as the show’s four signature clones, Sarah, Alison, Cosima, and Helena, surrounded by shadowy, inkblot-inspired figures. The design won over a panel of judges that included EW’s own Dalton Ross, show creators Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, and BBC America president Sarah Barnett.
Langevin, 32, tells EW that his design was inspired by Kira’s origami butterfly, which fans will remember from the series’ second season. “What I hope the image conveys is that the clones are parts of a connected whole, and that these other elements — Castor, the Neolutionists, the sheep mask clone, Rachel’s code, etc. — are all inexorably intertwined in their lives,” he says. “As with most of my work I also like to include symbolic representations of thematic elements, which ties in well with the visually interpretive nature of the ink blot pattern.”

Created entirely in Photoshop with a Wacom tablet and custom digital brushes, Langevin says the image falls in line with his typical artistic style, and that people often mistake his creations for real watercolors or traditional paintings. While his art often blurs those lines, there’s no mistaking Langevin’s dedication to
. “My wife and I started season 1 early this year, and I found out about the poster contest midway through season 2,” he says. “We ended up tearing through the the rest of season 2 and 3 in an embarrassingly short time so I could complete the poster before the deadline.”
