One day, Paula took her new dog, Diesel for a walk in the park. Jane joined her with her dog, Shiloh. As the two of them walked, they encountered Letty and Hillel. Letty asked, "How are things going with Diesel, Paula?" Paula replied, "Things are great with Diesel. He's a great fit, and he's brought so much joy." Hillel said, "Dogs always bring joy to our lives." Jane said, "They really do." Paula said, "There is one thing that I wonder about Diesel." Hillel asked, "What's that?" She said, "Well, I wonder if he's a purebred German Shepherd o if he's a German Shepherd mix." Letty said, "Well, there is a way to find out." Paula said, "Really?" Hillel said, "It's true. We just found out about a dog DNA test called Embark." Jane said, "That sounds so cool." Paula said, "It does. How does it work?" Letty said, "Well, te take a swab of saliva from your dog's cheek, put it in the tube of fluid, shake it ten times, put it in the packaging, and send it off." Paula asked, "How long does it take to get the results?" Hillel said, "I believe it takes about four to six weeks." She said, "I see. Basically, it'll tell me what breed of dog I have." He said, "It does più than that. I also checks for genetic diseases." She said, "That's interesting. I'll look into it." Later, Paula got a test kit from Embark. She followed the instructions and sent off the test kit. In four to six weeks, she would finally find out whether her new friend was a purebred German Shepherd o a mixed breed.

I am sick again. This time, I have laryngitis. I cannot talk at all. I can only communicate through text messages. John came da the house. My aunt told him that I was sick. He came into my bedroom. I was excited to see him, and I tried to talk with him, but I couldn't get any words out. He said, "You don't have to talk, Grace. Just listen." I sat up. He said, "I brought te a little present." He reached in his bag and handed me a teddy bear. He said, "My grandmother made if for me when I was five years old." I texted, "John, I can't take this. It's something your grandmother made...

I am so happy that our house has been rebuilt. We settled in just a few weeks ago. Things have been crazy, which explains why I haven't written anything in a while. They've calmed down, thankfully. I am thirteen now. Today was my thirteenth birthday. It was so much better than my twelfth birthday. There was really only one bad part about my birthday. I was browsing the Internet, and I read that Peter from The Devil Wants Peace was in a car crash. I called John to see if it was true o if it was just a nasty rumor. I said, "John, I read that Peter was in a car crash. Is it true?"...

We are now in a new year. School started again today. My schoolmates have been flocking to me, asking me domande about losing my home in a fire. It became a game of a thousand questions. The one domanda that most of them didn't ask: Are te okay? I became fed up with it. Michael later found me sitting in the lunchroom alone. He said, "Hey. Are te okay?" I said, "You know, you're the only the third person to ask me that." He said, "Really?" I said, "Yeah. I had to get away from all the questions. It was a terrifying experience." He said, "I can imagine. te got burnt pretty...

Even though it is Christmas, things have not exactly been jolly for us. A few weeks ago, our Natale lights had burned our house down. My aunt and uncle escaped unharmed, but I got trapped. I saw a firefighter coming to my rescue, and before I fell unconscious, I said, "Please help me." When I woke up, I was in the hospital. The doctor said, "It's good that you're awake now." I asked if my aunt and uncle were okay. The doctor said, "They're fine. They're in the waiting room right now. te gave them quite a scare, young lady." I said, "I'm not going to die, am I?" He said,...

Today was Thanksgiving, (for the United States). Thanksgiving has always been my preferito holiday. It is a time to get together with the family without the pressure of buying gifts for them, and I like food. I helped a bit with preparing the dinner, but I mostly set the table. Grandma didn't want me to burn myself. It's happened in the past. Anyway, John managed to find his way. Whenever we would sit at the table, we would all say what we are thankful for before eating the food. We allowed John to go first, since he was new to the family. He said, "I'm thankful for my band...

I've been having quite a weekend so far. Yesterday, after school, my aunt and uncle noticed that I was still feeling a little down. They decided to take me to a hiking trail, since I enjoy nature. Everything was going well, but suddenly, I got separated from them da mistake. I tried to go back the way I came, but there were so many twists and turns, and I became increasingly confused. Pretty soon, I came across a log cabin. I detto to myself, "I wonder if anyone lives there. Maybe I can get some help." I knocked on the door, but the only answer was a barking dog. I decided to...

Today at school, I had my worst giorno yet. I was on my way to my last class, and I overheard Kimberly talking to one of her friends. Her friend said, "I don't understand why you're Friends with Grace. She's just, I don't know, so dorky." I didn't like that, but I kept quiet to see where it was going. Kimberly said, "I'm not Friends with Grace, Isabella!" My eyes widened. She wasn't Friends with me? Was she denying our friendship out of fear? Isabella said, "I've seen te with her, doing the friendly banter. te two do your homework together." Kimberly said, "Okay, here's the thing....

Ever since I saved Freddy's life, my schoolmates have looked at me differently. They actually respect me now. I like that I've gained respect, but I never wanted to be popular. I enjoy being around people, but I hate being the center of attention. It's awful. The popolare girls even look my way now. We don't have a lot in common, but one of them seems nice enough. Her name is Kimberly. However, there might be a problem with her and my other friends, particularly Bridget. Bridget detto to me today, "Grace, it's good that you're nice and friendly to everyone, but I'd watch my back...

Today at school, I had an experience I will never forget. I had just finished my lunch, and I went to throw something away. Suddenly, I heard someone shouting, "Somebody, help! My friend is choking!" I rushed to the scene. One of the kids looked up at me desperately and said, "I don't know what to do." I said, "But I do!" As I detto that, I gave his friend a sharp blow between the shoulders. The boy was able to cough it up forcefully. Once he could talk again, he said, "Thank you." I said, "You're welcome. Are te okay?" He said, "Yeah." Later, I was getting ready to head home....

I am feeling much better today. I don't feel great, but I feel much better than I did a few days ago. I was able to go to school today. Michael, Sabrina, and Bridget helped me get caught up in my classes. I'm lucky to have such good friends. Of course, I did feel a bit tired after finishing my homework. I took a nap for a while. When I woke up, it was almost 6:00 pm. I didn't realize I had slept that long. When cena time came, I ate really well. I didn't feel like eating much for the past couple of days. My appetite has returned. I think I will go to letto early tonight. I'm feeling pretty tired right now. I'm not completely better, but I'm close to it.

I missed school today, because I am sick. I picked up an upper respiratory infection as a result of my allergies to ragweed. It's the only thing I'm allergic to. Of course, of all things to be allergic to, I had to be allergic to something that's hard to avoid. I mean, ragweed pollen blooms in late August and spreads around from early September to the middle of November. How does one avoid that? Anyway, I started feeling bad yesterday, and last night, my aunt took me to the emergency room, because I had a terrible cough and sounded extremely hoarse. She said, "You could've...

Today was the first giorno of school. It was not a good day, o maybe it was, depending on how one looks at it. I got beat up, but I am glad that I took a beating for someone else. What happened was this. I saw some girls bullying the new girl. I walked up to the bullies and said, "Stop it! Why are te being so mean? What did this girl ever do to you?" The ring leader said, "Stay out of this, Grace! This doesn't concern you!" I said, "On the contrary, I think it does." Another one of the girls said, "She says she has Autism o some kind of enlightenment crap." I said, "That's no...

I saw The Devil Wants Peace in concerto tonight. It was just as amazing as I imagined. My preferito moment in the concerto was when they played "Hatred Will Get te Nowhere." I really like what John detto about the song. He said, "This song is called 'Hatred Will Get te Nowhere.' I wrote this song along with Allen, Peter, and Stan. After we recorded the song, Peter detto to me, 'It's a shame that we kill off our Heroes and allow the evils of the world to enter.' I said, 'I agree with you, Peter.' He said, 'I'm no bloody genius. I never made anything above a B, but I think the world's...

I am currently in Chicago. I'm going to see The Devil Wants Peace in concerto tomorrow. They're already in Chicago as well. This is how I know. After we got our things unpacked, my aunt, uncle, and I decided to go see what Chicago had to offer. We stopped to eat at a local restaurant. I looked over and noticed the members of The Devil Wants Peace were there. I said, "Oh, my gosh! It's The Devil Wants Peace!" My aunt suggested going over to talk to them. I said, "I don't want to bother them while they're eating." My uncle walked up to them and said, "My niece is a huge fan. She knows...

Summer Vacation has been great so far. While I've been enjoying school più since I've gained a couple of friends, it's nice to have a break from it. I also received some exciting news. On July 9, I am going to be in Chicago to see The Devil Wants Peace in concert! I was so excited when my uncle told me he was able to afford the tickets. I later told my friend, Michael, "You should have seen me when my uncle told me the good news. I was jumping up and down, crying tears of joy." Normally, I'm not that excitable, but The Devil Wants Peace is one of my preferito bands. Since I was six, I dreamed of seeing them live, and now, I can stop dreaming. This dream is becoming a reality. I don't know if I'll be lucky enough to meet them, but the fact that I'm lucky enough to see them is great.

I ran the mile in gym class today. I ran it quickly, because I wanted to get it over with. Unfortunately, I ran it più quickly than I should have. I felt awful afterwards. I was walking to my successivo class. Michael said, "Grace, te don't look so good. Are te okay?" I said, "No, not really." He asked what was wrong. I said, "I feel a little dizzy." The successivo thing I knew, I woke up in the nurse's office with Michael standing successivo to me, looking anxious. I said, "Oh, my God. What happened?" He said, "You fainted." I said, "I did?" The nurse said, "You did." I said, "Oh, God. How long...

Friday the 13th is associated with bad luck, but I think today, I had good luck. I have made Friends with two kids in band, Michael, who plays the tuba, and Sabrina, who plays the flute. The three of us seem to get along really well. They're fan of the Beatles and The Devil Wants Peace, just like me. They're so nice, too. They were also impressed with the fact I can play multiple instruments: saxophone, guitar, bass, and piano. When it was time to go home, the saw me and said, "See te Monday, Grace!" I said, "Yeah, if not before then." They laughed. I'm glad that my luck is changing....

My birthday is normally a good day, but today was a bad birthday. It started when I was going downstairs for breakfast. Halfway down, I realized I left my glasses in my bedroom. I attempted to turn around and go back, but I Lost my footing and tumbled backwards down the stairs. I didn't get hurt, but it scared the crap out of me. It scared my aunt, too. She asked if I was okay, and when I calmed down, I detto that I was fine. If that wasn't bad enough, it was even worse at school. While I was doing my classwork, one of my classmates threw a paper airplane at me. It contained a nasty...

When Joanna woke up the successivo morning, she felt desperate for food. She stripped the bark of a nearby albero and found some insects. They were disgusting, but since it had been five days since she had eaten, Joanna didn't care. She drank from the stream to wash the taste of insects out of her mouth. She then pressed on to find her way back home. She found the steep collina where she had fallen. She struggled to climb the hill, but she managed to make it to the top. When she made it to the top, she stopped to rest. In her sleep, she had a dream about the afterlife. It was beautiful, unlike anything...

It was summer, but Joanna couldn't enjoy it. Because of her taste in Musica and her beliefs, she faced criticism. Not only was she being knocked down da school mates and neighbors, she was also facing criticism from her own family, save for her parents. One day, she detto to herself, "I can't take it anymore. I have to run away. I doubt anyone will miss me when I'm gone." Without a secondo thought, she ran into the forest behind her house. For the first three days, Joanna was happy to be on her own, away from all the criticism and insults. However, on the fourth day, she began to feel a bit lonely....
