I believe fanpop chose to keep the exact way to earn medals, but the most popolare way it to contribute alot and get lots of people to fan your contributions.
I personally believe the medal system is screwed (I've seen Friends get die-hard medaglie in club they can testify they've never contributed to), but te might as well give it a shot.

Heh. I have a dedicated metal to a club that I only postato 3 pictures on and a die hard on one I only postato 4 pictures, 2 articoli (short), and 3 forums, two of which were never responded to XD
