I don't feel that abortion should be used as a birth control. There are far better ways to prevent getting pregnant - a thing called abstinence. That said - in the case of a rape (especially of a minor or someone who is disabled) I can understand. My heart also goes out to those couples who had planned a baby, but due to circumstances - health problems that arise - the couple choosing to save the mother's life and having to make the decision to abort.

I agree on what you said. However, rape or disabilities should not be the reason either. This choice is really getting abused by women.

Book-Freak picked Pro-Choice:
A women owns her body and should have control over it. She should not be forced to carry a baby and be a mother if that is not her choice. What if she was raped? What if her existing health problems will cause the stress of birth to kill her? What if, simply, she just doesn't want to do it? She should not be forced to continue the pregnancy. She should of course use contraception, but if that fails it is not her fault. And abstinence is not the answer. Women like sex! Women want sex! Though people may not want to admit that, it's tue and they should not be told to ignore their bodily needs just because she has the possibility to conceive if that is her choice.

Difficult topic.

I always lean towards both and depending on what the situation is as zanhar1 and MaxandMart said.

Until I'm pregnant, though, I don't feel like I really have a say in all of this.

Personally, though, I wouldn't want to get raped and be forced to have a baby I didn't want in the first place. Even if I were to put the baby up for adoption, that baby would find me one day and wonder why I didn't keep them... and that would reignite the past, bringing back terrible memories of a rape baby.

But... if I'm married or with someone I love... and I happen to get pregnant one day, I'd definitely have the baby, even though I don't know whether I want one or not. The baby would be mine with the one I love, so it would be alright.
