When I made my poll about two things I never noticed in Hey Arnold when I was younger, people got into a debate over this. So I figured I'd ask a poll about it. People freak out when kids say it so if it's something that a child shouldn't be saying, shouldn't it be considered a bad word for everyone? I will admit it's not the worst word in the world. However, when I was a kid I was told it was bad to say "shut up" but I would hear that phrase in kids shows and parents wouldn't freak out. But I have yet to see a kids program, besides Hey Arnold, that has used the word "crap".

Crap isn't a bad word. I mean it's perfectly okay to say it in school (at least my school anyways) besides it's not like it's worser than the bad words. For example in elementary school I got in trouble for saying hell. Which isn't a bad word. Ugh I suck at explaining things but basically there is no reason why the word crap would be a bad word. It's not like you're saying shit or f**k or b**h (though this word is in the dictionary) and not only that it's basically a substitute.

Its definitely not a rated G word, but I really don't see how its a swear word word. Its never censored or bleeped out. I never really saw it as a "bad word" and I find it ridiculous if it is. I don't think "hell" or "damn" or really swear words either.

Crap is not a swear word.
It is one of those words that lies on the line between acceptable and a bit frown-worthy along with other words like damn and hell. But swear word? No. It is never necessary to bleep out the word crap, like uploaded900 said.

You might want to get your knickers in a twist over such a word, but hey, that's probably because of where you grew up. In New Zealand they are allowed to use words such as sh*t, d*ck, assh*le, p*ssy, hell, damn on PG rated television (and I'll censor that so you don't go getting upset). Saying crap is pretty much the equivalent of saying poop. "Oh crap!" would be equal to "Oh poop!" If poop isn't a swear word, why should crap be a swear word? So, I don't consider crap a swear word.
