...Who's gonna add Bellatrix???
The character made an initial impact on Victorian readers, yes, but what makes Sherlock Holmes especially interesting is that his character continues to intrigue audiences today, and like wine, he's gotten richer and more flavourful with age. There's so many different incarnations of Sherlock Holmes written and portrayed by so many different people, and what may be true for one Sherlock Holmes is entirely different from another, even if the base personality and concept is the same.
I love that.
Sherlock Holmes has become such a rich and diverse character through his time, and each telling of Sherlock Holmes's story is pretty unique.
It makes being a Sherlockian really, really interesting and always a new experience, from the original stories, to Basil Rathbone's portrayal, to BBC's Sherlock and House, MD- Holmes' character is a never ending frontier full of possibilities, and I absolutely love that.
Dean, Sherlock, Severus... <33
