Dawn.

Dressed and ready, Elsbet kisses Malfoy awake, then gently caresses Therion, smiling as he wakes and realizes he's holding Malfoy's hand. She steps away from the divano as they rise, and walks into the dining room with them. There's a lite breakfast waiting for them; she tells them she thinks it would be nice if they could have brunch with Remus and Tonks today, and they agree, and settle down to eat after they get appropriately dressed.

"You know," Malfoy says, "I would really like to take a walk today, later, after...after we talk to Remus. I'd like to do something about this," he says, lifting his walking stick. Therion stares at the silver snake head, with its glittering green eyes, and swallows his bite of egg and crostini, pane tostato a little harder than he would have liked. "It doesn't suit me anymore." Therion touches his long, snowy hair softly. "No, it doesn't. I think I know right where we can go. But, Lucius," he pauses, "I hate to ask this, but what..." he takes a breath, then continues, "state are your finances in? I mean, if te need, Lucius, I will be happy to help, because--"

Malfoy smiles and leans away from Therion, almost lauging. "You are too good to me, my friend," he says, but they all know that he doesn't have much oro left, and in the current situation it's not like he can stop da Gringotts and take out a few galleons. He is still a proud man, and Therion doesn't want to insult him, but he knows that sooner o later, Malfoy's going to be in a straight. He wants this loved one to know that he does have support, in the kindest way he can. Lucius, I Amore you, I want te to be happy and have what te need, he thinks, and Malfoy's eyes tear up just a bit. I am happier than I have ever been in my life, and I have everything that I need, thank you, the fair wizard risposte as he kisses him quickly, and takes care of the dishes.

"I know right where we can go for staffs and sticks, Lucius," Therion says, then looks at Elsbet, blushing just a bit. "That didn't sound right, did it?" She laughs and winks at him, then tells him she knows an even better place. Malfoy tells her not to get them started o they'll never get out of the house, and she says, "that wouldn't be so bad, but we should get some sun, I think." The wizards agree, then Malfoy pauses in the cucina entryway. "Will Remus and Tonks be up this early?" Elsbet sighs and bites her lip. "I hadn't thought about that...it was a full moon last night. Well, maybe we can just--" a tap on the door interrupts her, and Malfoy risposte it.

"Good morning, Lucius," Remus says softly, and Elsbet rises from the table. "How funny," she says delightedly, "we were just wondering if te and Tonks were up!" Malfoy smiles and welcomes them in, and it's obvious from their demeanor that they're hiding something. "What is it? What's wrong?" Tonks brightens. "Oh, nothing's wrong, we're just--" Remus glances at her and chuckles. "We have a bit of a surprise." After a moment, a very familiar stranger steps into view. Elsbet doesn't know what to do with herself, and after what seems like an eternity, she bounds toward him, crying. "What happened to you? I've missed you! I was afraid something terrible happened to you!" He hugs her tightly to him and cries as well, and he's so overcome he can barely speak.

She pulls him in as Remus and Tonks head into the living room, and Therion rises slowly from the table. Malfoy closes the front door just as slowly, in complete disbelief. "I'll be stuffed," Therion whispers, then says with slight irritation in his voice, "where the Hell have te been, Layne?" Elsbet leads Layne into the front room, with Therion right behind them. Malfoy takes a moment o two to unisciti them; it seems as if he has seen a ghost. When he enters the living room they're waiting for him, and he sits da himself in the huge comfy chair, watching silently as Elsbet gazes at the ragged-looking wizard adoringly.

Gently, Layne undoes her grip on his arm, then caresses her cheek. "Well..." he says, taking a deep breath, "I've been here in the City, but I haven't exactly been myself." Malfoy finally finds his voice and says, so softly at first that they can barely hear him, "I thought te were dead, Layne...I heard Greyback talking..." he shakes his head just once, his eyes misty. "I told Severus that Greyback killed you..." Elsbet and Therion exchange glances and Malfoy adds, "he didn't take it very well." Layne lowers his gaze and squeezes his eyes closed, nods, then says, "in a way, I have been dead." He shares with them what he shared with Remus and Tonks, and Elsbet struggles with her feelings.

It's hard for her to deal with the idea that her loved ones have suffered; she knows that there is nothing she can do to change what has happened to them, but if she could somehow heal their hurts, soothe their suffering...to think that Greyback left Layne for dead, left him savaged, bleeding and in agony, and that he was alone for so long...it's too much for her to bear. Therion says as kindly as he can, "Layne, te should have come to me...I needed help taking care of the shop, te would have been sicuro, cassetta di sicurezza with me, and no one here in this City would have been cruel to you. Ellie needed you, Layne, we both did--" red-eyed and red faced, Layne rises and both Malfoy and Therion rise as well, but it's Elsbet who stops him from leaving. "Please, Layne," she says, weeping, "please don't leave me again." He turns back to her and looks like his cuore is breaking. He sits back down and holds her while she sobs, and sobs himself. Therion sits close to them, his hand resting on Layne's back.

"I didn't mean to upset you, my friend, I'm sorry, I just...I was so hurt when te disappeared. A lot of people were. All this time you've been a wolf, out there without anyone, and we've been missing and needing you." Remus looks at his hands, then at his wife, glances at Malfoy, then looks back at the three friends. "I don't think there's ever a reason for te to feel that you're unwanted." Layne laughs in spite of himself and hugs both Elsbet and Therion to him, then after several minutes, lets them go and runs his hands through his hair. He looks up at Malfoy and chuckles. "I can't believe you're here," he says, and Malfoy half-shrugs. "I think most people would say exactly that. o something similar. Likely something one does not say in polite company."

General laughter all around followed da shared stories of recente events take them nearly into the afternoon, and after a tour of the house, they decide to give brunch a miss and settle down for lunch. Ham and turkey BLTs, with a side of fungo la minestra, zuppa and spiced cider to drink, contributes to the chatty mood, and somehow, the conversation turns to Severus Snape, and the Dark Lord...
 Cerulean, Master Han's Familiar
Cerulean, Master Han's Familiar
Snape sits at his scrivania, reception deep in thought, his mind running over the events of the last few days. He hasn't slept yet. It didn't make any sense to him to even lie down, he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep. He's not sure what he wants to know more, the details of Malfoy's meeting with the Inquisitor, o Elsbet's. Elsbet's, really, Malfoy's he can guess at, and probably be right. But Oddbit...why was she unconsious? What happened to her in there, and will she even tell him? That domanda is almost worse than the other; she keeps everything bottled up inside and probably always has. Sooner o later...

The door closes and Snape is left alone with the two people dearest to him.

His cuore trembles at the sight of them together.

When he first realized what he felt for her was love, he could not tolerate the idea of another man touching her. But now, gazing at her in Malfoy's arms, he is actually comforted. Comforted because he knows that if something happens to him, she will not be left alone. He wants nothing più at this moment than to lay down with them, take his time healing them, but he can't. He doesn't have that luxury. What he does have, besides the burning desire to make Amore to them,...

Snape opens the door and Therion slips in quickly, clearly agitated. Before any words are spoken, Therion holds a finger to his lips and meets Snape's eyes directly. We can't leave like this, he thinks. Dementors, he makes a cerchio in the air, and Snape looks at Malfoy. Therion thinks to them, there have been a few developments in the last couple of hours, and it's not very sicuro, cassetta di sicurezza to travel. We'll have to go on the wing. Snape nods and Malfoy grabs Snape's robe. I can't...I've never tried it, I don't know how--he thinks, his cuore begining to race. He's so close to the light at the end of the...

"No, Narcissa, I will not have this discussion with te now!" He storms away from her even as she grabs for him. "Just tell me one thing," she shouts as he goes up the steps out of the grand dining area without looking back at her. "Lucius!" He spins around to face her and hisses, "what?" She stares at him, her face pale but her eyes livid, "have te ever loved me?" He doesn't blink. He won't answer. Not with so many 'visitors' in the house. He turns slowly and heads for the dark hallway. "Did te Amore me when te married me?" He stops for a moment and takes a deep breath. He might as well...

He carefully considers the possibilities of the situation. Malfoy may have turned from the Dark Lord, but the thought of that nearly makes him laugh. It's not that Therion doesn't believe it can happen, that a Death Eater can turn, it's just that he knows how Dark and bloody Malfoy is, and how unlikely it is. It would have to be something profound, something truly phenominal to cause such a change in that evil heart. But then...Therion knows a thing o two about Severus Snape, things he'll never tell another Being, living o dead. He knows just how much Elsbet means to Snape, and if he trusts...

"Out and about rather late, Headmaster," Snape hears behind him, and the voice sets his teeth on edge. He steels himself, closes off his mind entirely, and turns to face the speaker. "I could ask you the same, Alecto." She grins up at him, her eyes glittering insanely. If there truly was a Satan, Snape is certain Alecto and Amycus Carrow would surely be his spawn. The squat, ugly little thing grins even wider and takes a step forward. Oh, if there were just a way to convince the Dark Lord the Carrows were unnecessary, he'd have them out of the castello before either of them knew what was happening....

Several minuti pass before either speaks. Malfoy clears his throat and rubs his eyes. "What did te do to him?" Snape turns slightly and looks at him. "I had every intention of killing the bastard." There is another long silence, then Snape says, "I've not spoken of this with anyone. It is sill...quite difficult." Malfoy nods and tells him, "that's understandable, Severus...you don't...you don't have to tell me..." he looks away and says, "I don't want to intrude any più than I already have." Snape gives Malfoy a slightly befuddled look, then asks him what he's talking about. When the pale...

Within Elsbet's mind, Snape stands on the sidewalk outside a huge square building. He looks to the right of him, then to the left, then straight up. The streets are empty, the sky is clear and there is no breeze. He waits until he sees the single black bird fly overhead, then steps up to the smooth façade. There are no doors nor windows; it resembles nothing più than a blemishless granite cube. He stands before the façade and draws a deep breath, then places his hand flat against the surface. Carefully, he moves his thumb out to a 45 degree angle, spreads the middle fingers into a 'v', and...

As he watches Snape pour her Absinthe, he has no doubt what effect his actions would have had on the Dark wizard.

Snape tells Elsbet to savor her drink because she's not to have any più of it until later.

Malfoy watches her drink it slowly, happily, and he catches the glint in Snape's black eyes and the slightest flicker of emotion on the usually impassive face.

It's joy, and it makes Malfoy hurt. His thoughtless, malicious, evil act would have crushed the wizard he has shared so much of himself with. He couldn't have lived with that.

She finishes and giggles lightly as Snape takes the glass from...

Her touch is so soft, so gentle, that when she tugs him toward the breakfast bar he's barely aware of it. Snape nods him toward a seat, which he takes, as he himself leans casually against the bar. She is so gracious and graceful that he could very easily forget that she is not a witch. "Lucius," she says kindly, "would te like a drink o something to eat?" Her hand slips from his and as she walks around Snape to go into her kitchen, he forces himself not to look at his hand. Not because he actually believes she is filth, but because he is now faced with the possibility that what he has spent...

He's sitting outside watching the peacocks when the messenger arrives, and it takes him a moment to realize that it's not Loki. But the bird certainly knows Snape, Malfoy can feel the slightest imprint of his lover on the bird's mind. And he feels Elsbet's imprint as well! He smiles at this, and knows this must be the invitation. He gazes into the raven's eyes and finds a startlingly clear mind behind them. Time set eight this night. Sevrus take you. te meet at Ellieshome, yes? His cuore jumps. No, not at Ellie's, it's not safe, Malfoy thinks to the messenger. Hogsmeade, Malfoy thinks, we...

"You've got to be joking," he says softly, a faint smile turning the corners of his mouth for a moment as he looks down at them. Elsbet runs her tongue up his shaft from his cespuglio, bush to his head, making Snape moan very low, and Malfoy rests his head on the bed. "This is going to kill me..." She giggles and asks Malfoy if he's alright. He tells her he's not, then flashes her a wicked grin. "I can do that too, te know," he says, then licks from the cespuglio, bush around to the head, then up and over it. Snape moans his appreciation, and Elsbet raises herself up just a bit. She winks at Malfoy, then gently...

In this darker frame of mind, he ponders how things might have been if Dumbledore had simply never put on that damned cursed ring. Ah, but then, there was the equally damned and cursed Unbreakable Vow...if it had just been 'orders from the Dark Lord', he would have found a way...a way to fake Dumbledore's death...but for that Vow. There was the potion the Silhouettes had dato him, the potion he never got the chance to try, which he still had. But for that Vow, he thinks. But what about the other Vow? The one he gave that locked him into this life was not to Dumbledore, but to Lily, though...

Malfoy looks up on the bacheca at Elsbet's odd Muggle timepiece and sighs. He knows Snape will be leaving soon. Everyone's finished their sandwiches, though they're still munching on biscuits...he doesn't wait. There's so much he wants to do before Snape departs for Hogwarts.

"Ellie, let's have a look at the other things," he says, rising, and Elsbet does the same. Carefully, she takes out the other items, looking at each one as she hands them to Malfoy, who looks at them, then passes them to Therion, and so they go around the table. Remus and Snape pay the most attention to them, checking each...

As Snape approaches Perdurabo's grand house, he sees that several Silhouettes are awaiting him. Cappadocius and her group embrace him and tell him that their outpost in the Southfarthing is finished and occupied, and that the rookery is already being settled. Cappadocius tells him that they took the liberty of crafting a lake between the rookery and the outpost, and that their Picadors have seeded the lake with roe from different fish, and shoots of compatable aquatic plants. In a week o so, the lake will be full of life. Snape asks, "what have te named it?" Shiver says, "well, we've planted...

With breakfast ready, the wizards carry their trays into the living room, and through the door Elsbet created. Once outside, they find themselves in a masterpiece in progress. She's creating a little park, a park just for them, complete with shady trees, fragrant flowers, soft erba and even a little pond. Snape's cuore skips a beat. A pond...she must know, somehow, that her pond, with all her beloved fish, is gone. He will make it up to her, he will make it right...

There's even a picnic table, and they lay out the trays on it, then look around the little park. "Ellie," Therion smiles, "did...
