	benji picked The Simpsons are the first and the original!: The Simpsons are not the original cartoon family, the roots of the disorganised family go way back, even The Flintstones and The Jetsons were disorganized way before either The Simpsons or Family Guy. The reason The Simpsons is better is because whilst Family Guy is a HILARIOUS show, it's a very different kind of humour, many people can say something random and it'll be funny, Family Guy uses random humour, it's not clever but it's still funny, it's what makes it what it is. The Simpsons uses REAL humour, it uses (or used to up until recently) situations that could really happen to people, only made slightly crazy. The Simpsons is touching, tender, and a laugh riot. It's not a matter of who is the original show, at the end of the day, which one makes unique real stories and make you actually care about the characters as well? When Homer almost died from poison blowfish, you actually felt a twang of pain and you were kept wondering if he'd survive and actually thought he was dead at one point. When Peter 'got' breast cancer, you knew it was just going to be some random storyline that got thrown away within five minutes, and shock horror, it was. The Simpsons went from shorts, to television, to film. Family Guy came back from cancellation. They've both got their fanbase and are always getting more popular. I mean, look at the King of the Hill characters or the South Park characters.
