Alloy Entertainment and Bonanza Productions have begun production on the fifth season of the hit CW Supernatural drama series "The Vampire Diaries", which has been dato a full 22 episode order. The show's casting directors in Los Angeles are auditioning actors and attrici for new recurring and guest starring roles. Smaller day-player roles and extras will be cast throughout the season da the local casting directors in Atlanta, GA where shooting takes place beginning on July 11, 2013. The series is based on the book series of the same name written da L. J. Smith.
The series boasts an impressive cast that stars four-time Teen Choice Awards winner Nina Dobrev in dual roles as Elena Gilbert and as Katherine Pierce. During the break in shooting, she has been starring in the Twentieth Century volpe feature film "Let's Be Cops" in Atlanta. Also starring in "The Vampire Diaries" is Screen Actors Guild Awards winner Ian Somerhalder in the role of Damon Salvatore. Two-time Teen Choice Awards winner Paul Wesley plays Stefan Salvatore.
Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson executive produce and are the series head writers, with Plec serving as showrunner. Alloy Entertainment CEO Leslie Morgenstein also executive produces. Caroline Dries and Pascal Verschooris are co-executive producers. In addition to Alloy Entertainment, Bonanza Productions is also one of the production companies behind "The Vampire Diaries". Kevin Williamson's company Outerbanks Entertainment is the third production company.
