Skimpy! Too skimpy too soon! Also too skinny!

is winxclub a bad influence?
That's our question, so lets start, shall we? :)

Winxclub has alot of magic, and adventure. But the big message is sended to almost all kids. Here's my questions-
are the winx too skinny?
are the Winx too skimpy?

Now, im not saying its like disney, with one-million subliminal messages. And things that send out bad messages.
1-are the winx too skinny?
Yes. They are. To be honest, they look like stick figures. And I mean, beyond anorexia nervosa. The message? Skinny girls can be super heros! Thats sad. I mean, why? Not even real Anime has them that skinny. Can they make the have a little fat? I mean, they don't have to be fat. They can be skinny, but not that skinny! I measured there waist line, 3 1/2!!!
2-are the Winx too skimpy?
Too sexy? The winxes clothing are unbelievably fashionable. And unbelievably skimpy! I mean, EVERY TRANSFORMATION! There bellys show. Harmonix was kinda revealing. I mean, there whole legs mostra all the way up to the point te have to stop! Most revealing transformation? più then one. Charmix, Enchantix, and believix. Wait a second! Tecna, has the most less revealing outfits. Through out charmix, and believix had her un revealing. Except enchantix, her belly shows like all the others. Well atleast she sends a good message. I was also very surprised, because lovix had them wearing this stuff, i mean, some people...*cough*(bloom).You know, they don't have to look sexy to be powerful.

Well, thats my investigation. But we all know, changing the character is too late. They are still looking like stick figures, with shorts and belly tops like its summer -_- share your opinions in the comments! Thanks for Leggere :3

Princess-Flora I do agree with you on those two items, but there are also things that are a good influence in the show. Such as finding your passion, you always have someone watching your back, nothing is more powerful than friendship, and education can lead to success.

stellamusa101 I agree with you. My friend's 8 year old cousin and her little 7 years old sister keeps saying "Sexy lady!"! And I'm not even above 13 years old and my friend's little sister wants to cosplay as Musa in her Magic Winx but it's super sexy! I like the show but dislike the clothes. Now I feel like a monkey.

stellamusa101 And BTW, I'm glad that season 5's casual clothes aren't revealing except for the pyjamas.

nmdis Honestly saying dress can not change someone's thought it is society from where we develope our thoughts, why don't girls can wear dress that they want to wear. Shall we just stop wearing skirts because people will call us from bad techniques? WE ALL should teach our little cousins, siblings or any of our friend to respect girls and respect their thoughts. They show is just showing what is truth although I agree that they should not show kissing scenes as many young kids will have bad influence on them.

nmdis Of course not but I think we need to teach our little childs to think like a child rather than an adult and not blame those show for sure. And I wanna tell you that this topic has recently rise in my country in news so I am telling this to you guys.

lovebaltor Sorry to say, but, I disagree. If we're going to call this show a bad influence for making them wear revealing outfits, you might as well call out the Barbie franchise as well. It's for girls in the same age group too, but you don't see 8 year olds driving vans do you? Kids are influenced, yes, but by the way they're parents raise them and nurture them—[b]not[/b] by what the watch, listen to or read. (That's like saying playing "Halo" will make your child want to go to war and kill. Not much logic in that thought) And not even "real" anime makes girls this skinny? Granted I'll give you this, but "real anime", as you like to call it, tends to create and portray women as sex-gods. The woman usually have big breasts and very revealing and tiny outfits. (Some hardly wear anything at all) Yet you see them wielding swords or fighting as well. The contorts of a characters body have nothing to do with their strength. (Logically and maybe in reality: yes. But in "cartoon/anime world": no) The [i]Monster High[/i] characters, I have noticed, have a similar style in the way the characters have been drawn. (And they usually wear skirts and heels ect) But you don't see little girls emanating this at school, do you? No. They like the characters for who they are—not what they look like. Besides, the Winx girls' clothes aren't that revealing. And even if you think they are, most fairies in folk-lore are portrayed with slightly revealing clothing and elegant, sparkly, or colorful dresses and outfits. And it's not like the Winx have been the first female-superheroes or fighters to have revealing outfits. I mean, look at Catwoman or Wonder Woman; Catwoman is in all leather and heels and Wonder Woman has no support to her top and is basically wearing a one-piece bathing suit all the time. They both still kick ass and mean a lot as characters. And once again, you don't see kids copying this do you? No. Honestly, I find it silly that someone would consider Winx to be a bad influence. The show is about believing in yourself, loving and trusting your friends, opening up your mind, having imagination...plenty of good qualities that people should follow. I doubt kids even care what the girls look like. I mean, that's why Barbie has been so popular throughout the years. Her movies and books (And franchise) even come out with new meanings for girls to live and love by. I don't think they care whether she's driving a convertible or wearing a skimpy bathing suit. All they care about is that, "Barbie is back and she's here to share an adventure with us!" Just as the Winx are.

socute4u no, i didnt say they were a bad influence! I just asked that in the title! I asked for the commenters to share there opinion. I love Barbie, and winx. I just found out this was a big topic of conversation on other sites. And second, this is a winx club spot, where we talk about our ideas of winx, im not going to start changing the topic with "cat woman" or "Wonder Woman" :P. and parents freak out about this stuff, and im trying to hear your opinion, as the diffrent point of view. And third, i do see some kids copying this stuff, not that they get it from winx. Girls 10+ wear this stuff, i mean, you got to be kidding. BTW-i got the whole idea from what reviews from parents say online, therefor im asking you. And I NEVER said that i think that they are a bad influence! So i have no opinion on this.

Usually when someone writes an article like this with points, they agree with those points :P And stating your views on what I said isn't going off topic. Just because this is the "Winx Club" spot, doesn't mean you can't acknowledge my examples; it's like you're putting them off on purpose and I don't like that. You see kids copying this stuff? Where? I live in America—where most of these problems [i]should[/i] be coming from—and I have not seen any 11 year-old wearing a bellyshirt and heels. They have iPhones, are texting and maybe watching movies they shouldn't be watching their age yes, but they're not dressing skeezy or whorish. Like I said before, parents are the key to a child's growing, choices and development; not a television show. (Or anything like that) Parents review this show? lol do they really have nothing better to do? This show isn't a bad influence at all and if a parent truly believes this: they are an idiot. If they find this show to be a bad influence, they might as well take Barbie away for driving cars; take Pokémon away for showing 'animals' fighting; and take Harry Potter away for showing evil and sorcery.

socute4u ^hmm, i live in America, kids do wear belly tops and shirt skirts. But not as much of them, they just have horrible parents. lovebaltor ^ lol "Toddler's and Tiara's" is something completely different. Most little girls going to school don't wear those things. And even those who are in pageants don't wear belly-shirts and mini-skirts to school, or in daily life. Those pageants are disgusting and stupid and that [b]is[/b] the fault of the parents for making the kids do those competitions. But most mom's I know would never put their child through that. They have common sense, which means their kids will grow up with it too. lol stupidity....those reviews just made me laugh xD

socute4u Some American kids these days are influenced to sexy body's, (im not going to start with "honey boo boo" -__-) You know, nick and disney stars are skinny and sexy, and kids minds are like "I need to get skinny to be a star?" And its sad, such as Amanda Todd, started to flash at 12. Oh, and ever heard of maury? One episode i happened to interested, when teen girls look like the winx, like skimpy clothes. And a lady taught them they don't have to be skimpy to be sexy. P.S- the last picture below i posted isnt very apropiate, for kids to wear. Why can't they wear the un-skimpy version costumes like we have in America!? Lol

N8theo Bare with me here. I've seen allot of anime cartoons and porn.( not all at the same time) the skinniness of the characters is not really a problem because it's a cartoon however the skimpyness of the clothes IS Bad. But that's not the worst part of the show. This is the only show the has worse and stronger in the innuendos then Disney.. hence why I brought up porn because every line in the show sounds like the beginning of a Cheesy porno. For those of you who don't watch p*** you won't understand but here's maybe one way you could figure it out.. play the episodes of the show we don't watch the TV just listen to the noises the voice actors are making it's really like they're about to go into a sex scene the script is horrible like a Cheesy porn intro. MusaEnchanted Hey, I understand where you're coming from, but do you really think the entire show is a bad influence? Winx Club focuses on finding your passion and working hard to achieve success, so when you say that the Winx's outfits are viewed in a negative way, then it feels like you're saying the show is negative. Winx Club has MANY positive impacts on viewers, setting them to reach for their dreams and continue to work hard. This is why I love Winx Club! Thanks for taking the time to read!
