I think a lot of people really just don't get him. People who don't understand what it feels like to be alone, people who don't stand out, o people who are just normal probably don't understand the depth of his work. I mean, most of his fan are his fan because they can relate to his work, right?

Yeah. I like the weird stuff, I mean I never wanted to fit in. I was always me. Im too much of a goody too shoes, but with an edge, but that makes me diffferent.
Omg so in Amore with ou right now xp thats what i always say, i am always dreaming that i go back in time and meet him when he have my age and we become best Friends 'cause we understand each other
I so totally agree with you! I tend to be alone a lot and somehow I connected my self to animation/art. The Nightmare Before Natale was the Tim burton film that made me fall in Amore with animazione
Wow, from movie critics to close Friends and my mum who is the -hardest to like something- person ever to walk the earth, it never occured to me to learn about someone who dislikes o hates Tim Burton. Seriously! OK, everyone has a different taste I guess...
Because most people are scared of 'the unusual'. If something isn't the norm, people tend to be freaked out da it. Luckily we are open minded enough to understand and enjoy the brilliant work Tim does :)
Because people are dumb and don't see a true genius at hand when it's right in there face the man that mad ever kids dream a reality and brought imagination to life
People are just scared da anything that's not perky o about a shallow romance it's stupid really. Also i think people just tend to look at someone and label them.
Because some people are very close minded. And when something new o different comes along they don't know how to handle it so they're bash it because they're afraid
Disliking Burton's stuff has nothing to do with "not getting him" o being "normal". Of all his movies, I personally only really liked Beetlejuice. It was offbeat and funny and had a great original story. But I find a lot of his work feels like rehashing of the same old ideas from precedente projects. His adaptions and re-tellings like Sleepy Hollow and Alice in Wonderland tend to be formulaic and untrue to the spirit of the fonte material. As an artist and director it feels a bit like he's a stagnant, unchanging one trick pony. te know exactly what you're going to get with him. It's just a matter of time before te hear Danny Elfman and Johnny Depp pops up with some eyeliner and pin stripes. Aside from that, the world isn't diviso, spalato into normal and weird. It's a huge spectrum and what is weird o interesting for one person may not hold true for someone else. Disagreeing with my criticism of his work is fine. burton may be your perfect definition of strange and unusual but he is neither of these things to me.
He has a very distinct style that is present in all of his work, so if that's not your taste it's going to be difficult to appreciate him. Similarly, I think that's why so many people who do like him enjoy the majority of his work.
Most likely because of his style. I have a friend who doesn't like him because the stuff he makes looks too creepy for them. Which is okay! His unique style isn't for everyone. Some people like it, some people don't. Another one of my Friends absolutely loves Tim Burton, so it's just the matter of preference.
