My guess is that this will have a lot of relevance to the last book. It's really hard to see sweet motherly Esme on a killing spree, so it will have that much more impact. I think it will be a warning story for Bella, a last chance to change her mind maybe.

Actually, Esme's story is very well described. If you go look at her character bio on the Lexicon, it will have her complete story put together from bits from the books and from Stephenie Meyer. It's just we don't know her story much of after she was changed, except now of course.
